Celina (Texas) High offensive tackle Jake Raulerson is one of the most sought after prospects in the country in the class of 2013, and the blue-chipper has early interest in Michigan.
The Wolverines are one of many programs to already offer the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Raulerson, along with the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Texas A&M.
“I know they’re a very good program and very good school,” Raulerson said. “I have a couple friends that are big Michigan fans, so I’ve heard a lot about them.”
Ranked as the nation's No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 24 prospect overall, Raulerson has also heard a lot about Michigan from Wolverines offensive line coach Darrell Funk.
“I think Michigan is a big deal and I like Coach Funk quite a bit,” Raulerson began. “We talked about the Notre Dame-Michigan game which was a big deal, and it was kind of cool to see that. Huge game with a lot of fans and fun to watch on TV. Wish I could have been there. Coach Funk said Michigan is getting good and he’s excited about what’s going to happen in the years to come.”
Raulerson doesn’t report any favorites early in the process, and will most likely be one of the class of 2013 prospects offered at Texas’s big upcoming junior day. He visited Arkansas and Baylor during the fall for games, and says he’d like to get up to the Midwest to check out Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame sometime down the road.
“I’m definitely going to check out any school I can,” Raulerson said.
