Frankly, what I've seen of our backups in the past...it would not be a wise decision. Don't insert the backup QB into a rivalry game at night for his 1st meaningful snaps of the season when the game is still close.
If we were down 24-0 or 31-0, maybe. But it's only 10-0 with plenty of time.

I place all interception blame on denard. He needs to learn that its ok to just scramble for two yards.
However, when We started running the ball, the interception ratio dropped immensely. If We continue to run the ball, then We Wull be just fine.MichaelHardenII

Not taking care of the football cannot be tolerated regardless of the score or opponent. He needs to be on the bench when he forgets this basic principal and starts throwing it to the wrong team.
I would have pulled him for at least a possession or two after the second int.

After the 2nd int?! Kind of a short leash don't you think?? Especially when you don't have a quarterback who's taking a meaningful snap all season (and barely in a career). Yeah sure, if you're in ND's situation and you've to Rees back there who's been a starting QB for a season and a half as your backup, you have that luxury. Michigan unfortunately does not.
I know it's in our nature as fans to love a guy when he plays great and not be able to wait for him to graduate when he plays like shit. The level of hate for Denard when he plays like shit is mind-boggling. You're talking about a kid who singlehandedly won us the ND game in 2010 in one of the greatest single game performances I've ever seen. He played his best 2 games of the season last year when we were fighting for our BCS hopes.
Every time (literally, every time) we lose a game, we get the "DENARD ISN'T A QB! PUT SOMEONE ELSE BACK THERE!" calls. Personally when DG came in at QB last season, he didn't look anywhere near as good as Denard. Oh yeah, and he's also spent the majority of this season practicing at wide receiver. That then leaves Russsell Bellomy, who's thrown 2 passes in his college career, with one of them being intercepted lol.
How could you want EITHER of those 2 options in a game that is still in doubt?

I didn't say anything about hating Denard it's about coaching. If you continue to play someone who is making the same mistakes over, and over in the same game they will continue to make the same mistakes. They need to be on the bench.
The game I watched our defense was more than holding their own. The problem was the giveaways. I believe Hoke's famous statement is you can't lose if the other team doesn't score and they probably wouldn't have if we would have stopped turning the ball over
Are you familiar with the name Bo Schembechler?
There is noway that our quarterback would have continued to play with-out sitting on the bench for at least a few possessions, and probably the rest of the game. This is how Michigan football was built and needs to be played
Defense, run the ball, and TAKE CARE OF THE FOOTBALL!

Yes, I'm familiar with Bo. And in a rivalry game against msu that was still in doubt, he kept Demetrius Brown in the game to the tune of 7 interceptions. Coaches go with who's going to give them the best chance to win. Even if he's playing like shit, if there's no better option, you have to stick with him.
I don't disagree with your point entirely. Yes, if a guy is playing like shit, you have to pull him. But not when he's far and away your biggest offensive weapon. Not when he's the only guy who's had experience in these games. Not when the separation between him and the backup is as great as it is.
