who is the starting dline next year?

Agree with that. I also think Black has done really well recently at the DT spot, so he could stay there and be the 3-tech starter with Q-Wash at the NT. If Heitzman/Strobel/Wormley can hold down the SDE position, I don't see a need to flip Black again to a new spot.

WDE: Clark / Beyer / Ojemudia NT: QWash / Pipkins DT: Black / Henry / Wormley? / Godin? SDE: Heitzman / Strobel / Wormley? / Godin?

And that's ignoring Ash and Wilkins who would both be going into their RS JR years. Seeing how much improved Washington has been this year it's not out of the question that one or both could step up and contibute.

I like Black inside as well, he is really strong and athletic for a center of guard to handle by themselves.

    NT: Pipkins/ Washington
    SDE:Beyer/Heitzman/Strobel/
    WDE:Clark/Ojemudia/Wormley

There are guys that can be moved around if match ups arise from game to game, or censored occur. It's really looking good for the future. goblue

I think Wormley pushes for time in the SDE rotation - he's a big boy who could develop into an excellent SDE for us.

  • Great question, the only guy I am 100% confident in gets the start is QWash.

WDE: Clark, Beyer (could potentially move to SDE), Mario O. all have a shot
DT: Pipkins, Ash, Black, Godin, Henry, Wormley could all make a play for the start
SDE: Heitzman, Beyer, Black, Wormley, Godin, Strobel could all make a play for the start

    Clark (1), Beyer (2), Mario O. (3), QWash (4), Pipkins (5), Ash (6), Black (7), Godin (8), Henry (9), Wormley (10), Heitzman (11), Strobel (12), Wilkins (13), Brink (14) plus the freshman (who hopefully all redshirt).

It looks like we finally have the depth to have a full 3 deep at each spot on DL.

My way too early guess right now:

    WDE: Clark, Beyer, Mario O.
    NT: QWASH, Pipkins, Ash, Wilkins
    DT: Black, Henry, Godin
    SDE: Heitzman, Strobel, Wormley, Brink

I expect Beyer (WDE/SDE), Pipkins (NT/DT), Black (DT/SDE), Henry (NT/DT), Godin (DT/SDE), Strobel (SDE/DT), and Wormley (SDE/DT) to all get either bigger or in better shape which could alter the positions they play. Obviously expect the others to get bigger/better shape but think they would stay at current positions.

    +1

I just envisioned Wormley at SDE and Clark at WDE with the biggums manning the middle.. and I almost popped a woody (no homo/no pedo) ..

Imagine having two tall, strong, long and athletic guys like Clark and Wormley on the edges. panic

With wormley and pipkins in the middle. That's a lot of length

I'd like to see this starting lineup in a couple years:

    SDE: Wormley
    NT: Pipkins
    DT: Godin/Strobel
    WDE: Ojemudia

  • I don't know if he'll start next year, but Wormley will get a ton of playing time especially in passing downs.

I agree but with wormley and strobel switched. And that's not based on much, just my opinion. But the coaches were playing him at 3 tech and sde before he got hurt. I think they like his upside better in the middle.
