Have you started the application process yet? I checked out Michigan's because I was worried about the essays, turns out they are basically paragraphs.
I'm joining a fly fishing club and getting a job soon to go along with my community service, hopefully that stuff helps me get in to Michigan even though I don't think I want to go there.

Not really. All I've done is get a few teachers to write letters of recommendation. I've gotten emails from Michigan that the common app is ready but I'm just too lazy right now. I know the essays are only like 150 words or so. Unfortunately my dad is making me apply to MSU as well since he is an alumnus.

I need to find some teachers to write some letters for me, other than that I'm pretty much alone of the whole application process as my guidance counselors probably haven't even heard of Michigan. Total idiots.
Supposedly the general application, like the one to actually get in to Michigan, isn't bad but it's the one to get into whatever school you want is the hard one.
Will you go to MSU if you get rejected from Michigan? Or is that completely out of the picture?

Yeah, I'd probably go to MSU, although I don't know if I could bring myself to wearing MSU stuff and supporting its teams..
I'm looking to major in medicine right now, but, of course, that's what a ton of people say going into college and may or may not change along the way.

haha, I couldn't bring myself to wearing anything other than Michigan or Miami gear.
Damn, I thought you were going to say business so you could help me out on how to apply to the business school or the route you were going to go to get into Ross. That's the main reason I don't think I'll end up at Michigan, I want to go directly into business school and I'm not guaranteed that if I go to Michigan.
What other schools are you going to apply to?

I was taking a tour of the campus and I think they said you apply to the Ross after your freshman year, which does give you plenty of time to transfer or plan for something else. I plan on applying to Michigan, MSU, Northwestern, and Central/Western/Eastern. Northwestern is my dream school (besides UM) if I could get in but that's unlikely and WAY too expensive.

Those would definitely be good options. I wish Michigan would have a program like MSU, where you apply to their med school when you apply to the undergrad school. If you're accepted, all you have to do is maintain a 3.3 or soemthing and you're guaranteed a spot in the med school when the time comes.
