tOfficial B1G Champ Wolverines vs a bunch of #scrubs Game Thread

  • They're shooting almost 50% from the 3.

I don't want to be overly dramatic, but I've been saying this for a number of games now, I think if you think this team is a NC or Final Four type team, you're off, this is a pretender. Sweet Sixteen is obviously possible, it would depend on the opponents, but beyond that we'll have to get real lucky. Everyone knows how to attack this team and neither Beilein nor these players have found an answer to it.

I mean, seriously how do you expect to beat good teams if you get raped in the paint offensively and defensively, if you can't even hit mid-range shooters and the only way you can compete vs teams is by hitting treys and if those don't go in, you're looking at 30 point losses.

Maybe, but this team also doesn't look like a B1G style team. They don't do well with the physical play. I think other conferences tend to have more "finesse" styles of play compared to the B1G. If we somehow regain confidence, we may be able to fair decently well in the tournament.

  • Team has no heart. No effort whatsoever tonight.

Turned the game off mid first half because I knew this was coming.

  • I hope this is the game that lights a fire under their collective asses and gives them a boost to the national championship.

I'd agree to this point. This 4 game stretch has shown all of this team's flaws, and they are flaws that come into play in March. You've got to be tough, physically and mentally to win games in March. With the exception of Duke, which was probably the "softest" National Champion of the last 10 years, every team has been extremely tough.

I'm trying to figure out who the leader is of this team...I know Trey is the best player, but is he the leader? Is it Tim? Who's the guy who goes in the locker room and fucks shit up after a performance like this? Who's the guy who when things go south in the early minutes will get the team back on track?

This team just played with no emotion at any point tonight.

Agreed. Logging off for the evening. Peace guys. Tomorrow should be a better day.

  • I'm not ready to give up in this team. But all that I heard and blocked out in regards to JB "not being a good coach in big games"...well...I'm really starting to question it. The coach is responsible for getting the team ready to play physically and mentally and as much as I hate to say it, it appears JB has failed at doing just that.

Bottom line...top 10 teams don't play this poorly. This is embarrassing.

  • At least we got an elite football recruit today. That's something MSU won't be able to say the rest of the season. shrug

  • Absolutely terrible. This team plays no defense and forces wayyyyyyyyyyy too many shots on offense. Recipe for getting blown out by top teams.

  • That play where Burke had that stupid offensive foul changed the game. And then the non-call after that.

Exactly. It's disappointing to see no fight whatsoever.

There is no leadership and Beilein isn't the sort of coach who will make up for it by being a firebrand. Compared to teams like MSU or OSU this group is children on a field trip. MSU won't be dominated like this in Crisler, we may beat them but you bet it will be a close, close game because crowd noise and all that is irrelevant if you can just stick it to your big men and they'll get high percentage shots again and again and again.

OSU came into our house and lost but they loooked like the better team in the process. MSU will be the same story except they may win. Indiana as well. This team doesn't have the aggression, leadership and physicality to overcome these kinds of teams.

    UMSkeletor

  • This is an embarrassment to the University. When players just give up something is extremely wrong. Michigan state took us out to the wood shed and beat us up.

After every lose people on this board say we will learn from this? please don't come with that again. Michigan wanted nothing to do with state and the environment from start to finish.

    Show some F'in pride

Freshman hit a wall. Been saying this for 4 games. They do not have another level in them. 6 -7 losses total for season. Sweet 16 possible based on match ups.

  • GRIII in this 4 game stretch... 7-24 for 18 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists.

4.5 ppg, 3.25 rebs, 1.5 assists, in about 37 minutes a game. You got to do better than that kid.

  • I said 22 point loss. Only 1 off. I reset my expectations 4 games ago. Saw writing on the wall.

I love Izzo idc if he is at state. I love his heart and passion. Wish we had him.

BTW Morgan looked TERRIBLE! I know this is his first game but good God.
