  • Knee sprain for Blake

  • I do like to see that we kept fighting. Bama is simply better than us. We all knew that, didn't we?

Not the scenario I wanted to see, I would have liked to see us more competitive, but them the breaks. We will learn from this, and move on.

Thank god...I was worried about something worse. Hope Lewan is the same.

wow. this could take anywhere between 4-6 weeks or more based on the ligament.

Correct. But I consider us better than the rest ... or at least should strive to be. At this point, we are not contending for squat this year. We can reality check again in 3 weeks.

You've determined that the players and
coaches aren't striving to be the best based on 1 game against a 14 point favorite?

    Remarkable.

Never said that. You are taking my remarks out of context. I said we should be striving to be the best - always. I never said they were not now ... you did.

Usually not that bad. Most like a MCL strain, those you can come back from in 1-2 weeks.

Perhaps you worded your comment improperly but you insinuated that we aren't striving to be the best. You followed that up with a prediction that we won't compete for
squat. I didn't take anything you said out of context.

lets hope so. The Lewan injury is concerning to me ..... this team has so very far to go. I will be happy with a Capital One bowl. DR and the D have alot to improve before ND. Heck ... AF will be tough next week.

    Yes you did. You stated:

"Them again, so does 99.999% of the other 120 D1 teams."

    I said:

"But I consider us better than the rest ... or at least should strive to be"

    You stated:

"You've determined that the players and coaches aren't striving to be the best based on 1 game against a 14 point favorite?"

Where did I make this association? I did not - you did.

Wait, seriously, "we are not contending for squat"???? I mean, did you watch MSU and Nebraska's first games? If week one is any indication, I still consider us favorites to win the division, which means we are competing for a B1G title.

giving up on the season because of a worst-case scenario game against the defending national champs is absurd.

I did watch both games. MSU defense looks very good for game 1. I did say "We can reality check again in 3 weeks." 1 game does not make a season. But ... after the ND game should give us direction.

I agree with this. MSU is nowhere near the team Bama is defensively. Not even close. Michigan will be much better against every team we play from here on out. Nobody on our schedule is close to Bama. They are fast, physical, well coached, big and very very talented. Trust in Hoke. Michigan will be fine this year.

They can be. As I have said, I am curious on how the coaches use this blowout to teach. I reserve judgement till after ND. They are nowhere near ready to compete ... yet. Yes ... yes ... this was AL. I get it. But ... as a measuring stick ... we have alot of work to do.

Compete against Bama sure but did you see what Bama did to LSU in the championship game last year? LSU was the second best team and got thoroughly beatdown. I would not use this game against Bama to determine how well Michigan will do against the rest of the teams on our schedule.

I did and I disagree. I think at his point we are as good or better than any team in the Big Ten. The Bama game does nothing to change my mind on that.

Our LBs did not look good at all except Ryan and surprisingly the dline wasn't totally overpowered each play.

This I can agree with. I thought Demens and Morgan were bad all night as were Thomas Gordon and Kovacs(shockingly). Kind of wonder if Ross and/or Bolden start getting more playing time.

yeah one thing that stood out to me was how their LBs were flying around making plays and ours generally looked unathletic and small. Same with safety play.
