This actually makes me feel better about our chances. I interpret this as him still having Michigan in the lead and wanting to make absolutely sure. At least I hope that's what it means.

It could easily mean that he has USC in the lead and wants to make sure (using your logic). To me it just means he isn't sure, which following two straight USC visits, is a good thing.

For some reason, I feel like if he had USC in the lead he would be visiting Michigan next to make sure.

  • I feel like it's neck and neck between USC and Michigan and he can't decide....otherwise he would have already.

    Why visit ND next?

    It's called "process of elimination."

So because its 9 months before signing day and he hasn't yet made one of the most important decisions of his life, he's not a Michigan man? I can't tell if you're trolling or not..

But that's just it.....if we believe the talk about it coming down to a 2-team race, then visiting ND wouldn't be eliminating, it'd be potentially adding a 3rd candidate.

If it was USC slightly leading Michigan, then wouldn't it make sense to revisit Michigan to make sure he wants to eliminate us? Unless he feels he already knows what Michigan is about and another visit wouldn't matter?

If it was Michigan in the lead and the 2nd visit to USC hasn't changed that, maybe he's already eliminated USC and is making sure about ND?

Maybe this talk of visiting ND is just to give credence to a 3-team race?

He's a guy that clearly seems to have a tough time deciding. He's said publically its a 3 horse race. When you are having a tough time deciding and you use "process of elimination" you visit the least likely option first. That's one (positive) read on it. If it's down to 2 after ND he goes to Michigan next for obvious reasons. If he can't make a decision by end of Summer, then I'd worry.

Also, He doesn't seem to be a guy that cares about the media and values his privacy so I don't think he plays that game.

I thought that about him too, but apparently he is really big on the "glitz and glamour" of USC.

I think that's different. He doesn't like the media attention and wouldn't care to spin things, but he's going to be impressed by the USC brand (tailback U) their long list of top running backs, the access to the entertainment industry and the weather.

Hopefully, though, for his benefit he will realize that the general area cultures are very different. My personal experience is that LA with all it's glitz and glamor tends to be much more shallow than most places in the US. This happens because In the Star system people tell people what they want to hear and everybody is concerned about projecting an image. The Midwest is the opposite and the Michigan coaches even more so. Since he's a Midwest guy he'll probably be much happier in Ann Arbor where Midwestern values are preeminant. And if he doesn't like the media attention as it seems, he absolutely would be happier in AA than LA. He'll have the same upside no matter where he goes.

For the record I don't live in LA or the Midwest at this time.

  • Maybe .... he is ensuring his heart is truely at Michigan. Ty seems to be someone that is considering what he says, and how he acts about the Universities he visits. Before he commits somewhere, he is validating his heart is in a spot. How? Visit all the places you think you might like. Compare how you feel about one versus the other. Is he homesick for one over the other? You cannot get this feeling by 1 visit to a school.

Also ... I am encouraged by the ND news. Why? 2 of his 3 schools are in the midwest. This tells me he may be leaning towards a place closer to home.

  • Ty Isaac is done taking visits. He wasn't sure about that report saying he was looking to visit elsewhere. He's not moving towards decision mode. I still like Michigan. USC is the competition. I think ND is third.

  • I suspect he will continue this process till it starts keeping him up at night. At some point in the next month to 6 weeks, he needs to start preparing for fall ball. Personally, I would want this decision done before fall practice started, in order to focus on my senior season.

Tough decision I suspect for him. For me, I would rather have the academics, football tradition, and the ability to play in front of my family and friends every weekend - without having them incur a high cost week after week for travel. At Michigan, his loved ones can have a short drive saturday morning to see him. This is big to someone close to their family.

I respectfully disagree steve. He has been to California twice since he last visited Michigan in March.

I think it is USC and very soon.
