I'm pretty sure he was streaking down the streets of LA screaming "I'M COMING TO USC AND I'M COMMITTING SOON"

Just like GoldenArm from Blue Mountain State. He's a USC lock.

Ahh, good old GoldenArm. Would've been an All-American if he went to BMS.

  • You're really a mod? Or did your daddy just give you special account privileges including your very own log in name? You're clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed either. The point isn't how valuable the information is or what/what wasn't said in the thread. You took premium info from another site and brought it over to your own. Scott has plugged in sources, something, apparently you don't have. I mean you did drop that little "insignificant" info over here. Well, I suppose I should give you credit for trying to analyze a 17
year old tweet and decifer what that was indicative of. Fine work.

Oh, and from experience when Schrader posts something like that he is almost always right. He isn't dumb enough to post what he heard or from whom (particularly on out of state kids) and you gave him further reason not to. We all know what he said was gold and don't need an explanation. God forbid our mod jewels ever including a "well, I think recruit x may have meant this by this tweet...."

Oh and quick point about me deciphering the tweet, turns out I was right. Interview with ESPN he said that he read something online where a source said he was leaning one direction and that it was wrong. So he tweeted about it.

It's ok that you're wrong though, I really appreciate you taking the time to come over and tell me how you feel. Reminds me of how I acted when I had a crush on a girl in first grade.

Oh, and I stand by what I said about how utterly insignificant that VIP post was. I didn't quote it and didn't do anything wrong. I summarized it. It's not my fault that it was only one sentence long. Plus, the fact that it had +21 is a clear indication of what I said. Also, I didn't take premium info from one site to the other - 247sports is one site. They share information. Todd has posted VIP posts from Scott and I'm sure Scott has shared VIP posts from other sites.

Go back to crying about the latest Gilmore Girl episode.

  • Gilmore Girls? Never heard of them but you seemingly know a thing or two about the show. Also, your username is Ducksworth. Let me guess, your childhood screen name was starwarsfan1.
Also, not a flame but merely a thought/question... Shouldn't a 247 mod be getting their own information and not venturing over to ESPN to obtain it? And lastly, right or wrong, you still broke down a tweet by a 17 year old. Dude was probably in chemistry class and decided to tweet something. Be proud, you can be the Perez Hilton of the cfb recruiting world.

I'm not going to lie, a guy on this board, Rick Dearborn, predicted Shane Morris and Dymonte signing with us weeks before they happened. He seems to really know recruiting, especially the west coast. Rarely has he been wrong and all of us trust him, he's almost always right. He isn't dumb enough to post what he heard or from whom (particularly on out of state kids). Well, about a week ago, I asked him about Max Browne, and he told me not to spill the beans, but Max is rethinking his decision.

  • Lastly, why do all of the 247 boards have their own VIP's only available to that specific sites members if it's kosher to just pull info from one board to another? I mean, in that case shouldn't I be able to read all Michigan VIP post? Just saying... Best of luck "Ducksworth."

    1. My girlfriend watches it. I've watched some episodes and sadly got kind of interested, but it's not that good of a show.

    2. Ducksworth is from the Mighty Ducks movies, which might be the best movies ever made. If you've never seen those, I feel bad for you.

    3. Star Wars is awesome.

    4. I like recruiting so I get updates? I only belong to 247.

    5. Yes, I did. We're in a recruiting forum. That's what we do. We try to figure out where 17 year olds are going to college. If you don't like that, mayyyybe you're part of the wrong site.

He isnt a staff writer, hes a board mod. Didn't realize if you were a mod you had to have inside info, just clean up stupid posts from sparty, buckeyes, or the occasional butthurt other fan du jour (Tommy)

if you don't like what he posted take it up the food chain, because I can guarantee you we don't care whatever it is youre whining about and Duck probably doesn't either

So wait, let me get this straight.

Are you really saying that it is the policy of 24/7 that VIP info can be taken from one site and spread to every other site out there, simply because someone paraphrases the info instead of quoting it? But... if they quote it, that's not OK? That's kind of confusing, as it accomplishes the exact same thing.

If that's really the case, I think it's time for some reconnaissance on the Oregon site, haha.

edit: sorry, had to add that there is a clear difference between a VIP article, that a VIP from any site can read, and a VIP thread, which only VIP members of that site (and other mods, apparently) can read.

Legally, there is a huge difference between copying something word for word in its entirety and paraphrasing it. The article can be protected by copyright, while the general info can't. As for 247 policy, they can do whatever they want, but all useful VIP info leaks outside 247 very quickly anyway (just like with every other pay site). If I want to know a rumor on your VIP 247 board, I can usually go to a public board on another site for you or one of your rivals and find the info fairly quickly. This issue is being way overblown.

We're not talking in legalities here. I'm asking if it is 24/7's policy to let a mod hop from one board to the next, gathering VIP info, and returning to his home board to share all of it. That is quite contrary to the policy on almost every type of sports forum out there.

I'm not comparing what duckwhatever did to the above example, because what he did was pretty tame. I'm just wondering what the general policy is.

Yes, it's being overblown in this issue because there wasn't much to share.

But if that act is OK under the policy actually in place, I'm going to have to convince some mods from the USC board to go snooping on every site out there (including this one) and report back with paraphrased notes.

Why are you so angry? You're talking about something that happened once. There's been no pattern of referencing protected information from other sites and the only people getting upset about this are a few USC fans and not the actual originator of the info. There was no stealing of information and this was the only time that something like this has occurred. There's really not a problem here. Just relax, man.

There was no "analyzing" of a 17 year old's tweet. There was a known hack claiming to have a source saying that USC was leading for Isaac. Isaac tweeted something to the effect of someone needing to find a new source shortly following that. Mentioning those two things together is hardly analyzing someone's tweets in any odd manner. If I recall correctly, you were the one with a paragraph long post on the academic standings of Joe Mathis, a 17 year old. If anyone is a bit overzealous about analyzing what's going on with 17 year old recruits, it's you. I'm not saying that's anything to be embarrassed about but you're being a hypocrite.

"Well, about a week ago, I asked him about Max Browne, and he told me not to spill the beans, but Max is rethinking his decision."

Didn't you lie when you agreed to not spill the beans about Max Browne?

After an abrupt change of mind by DeAnthony Thomas on the last recruiting weekend last year, nothing would surprise me.

Having said that, I find Ricks information to be a bit on the dubious side, considering the fact Max is recruiting strong for USC.

I believe he made 3-4 unofficial visits on his own dime, so it's not like he didn't make an informed decision.

Why don't you look into governing your program as hard as posts on recruiting sites, maybe your athletic dept. won't be on probation once a decade. UsC fans care more about posting recruiting information in violation of some internet rule, than to get their athletic department to follow the actual rules in operating their programs. All of this BS, trolling, and posting on another teams site, trying to enact some ridiculous rule these people are really classy.

I find it utterly hilarious the way these people feel about impropriety on recruiting sites, but clearly when it happens in their program, not a problem as long as their winning. Unbelievable!
