Wolverines land 15th commitment

I guess my question should be are you concerned about the depth at the playmaking positions? I think you guys will land Issac and Treadwell both but who will u have behind them? Im just trying to become familiar with who you guys have on your board that you feel solid with. I could be totally off base here, im simply looking at what you have committed so far.

Michigan is still in the running for several guys who are playmakers. Besides, after Denard we have another dual threat qb who will be taking over. So his running ability will take some of the pressure off WR's and RB's as they continue to develop. I think a lot of people that aren't familiar with Michigan think that after Denard we are going to have a slow qb who runs a 5.5 40. That's not the case.

I guess you need to define what you consider a playmaker. Would Shane Morris fall under playmaker?

Your on the tBB, ive said multiple times I feel Morris is a great QB and should always be considered one of the top in the nation. Thats one player tho.

Well Funchess, Butt, Norfleet, Darboh i would consider playmakers. I would consider a 6'5 WR like Dukes who can be a redzone terror a playmaker. Add in the possibility of Isaac and treadwell and i think we are doing OK. Not to mention our DL and OL guys we have picked up. Throw in Dymonte Thomas, Joe Bolden, James Ross, Pipkins, etc... on D.

I think Gardner is the perfect transition quaterback from the offense we run now to a more traditional pro-style.

As for playmakers I'm not concerned. We picked up some solid ones last year like Funchess, Darboh, and Chesson and we're in on a lot of good ones this year.

I'm excited for Norfleet because I think he can help in our return game. We haven't had a real threat to break one there in a while.

  • One more RB at least, maybe 2, two more WR, and maybe one more TE? That sounds like plenty of playmakers to me shrug

Who the hell are your playmakers? You pulled a couple of top RBs last year but your WRs were nothing special. And this year you have neither so far. You already admitted we are likely to pull Isaac and Treadwell, so I'd say we are doing at least as well as OSU. If anything, your OP smacks of concern on your part. We pulled an excellent class last year and are on track to do even better this year. Go back to your board and report that we are very happy and stop trolling our board.

Hey man, Dunn is going to tear it up as a power back in Meyer's speed oriented spread offense.

You act as if Michigan has recruited bums on offense. We have talented guys already in the program such as Devin Gardner, Russell Bellomy, Justice Hayes, Thomas Rawls, Jerald Robinson, Jermey Gallon, Stephen Hopkins, Drew Dileo, Fitzgerald Toussiant, etc... as well as the guys coming in the fall and in this current recruiting class.

As everyone stated we are seriously trying to build up our depth at the lines. I also believe that by landing a few top play-makers now along with depth at those positions will set us up better for the future. WR and RB are the top 2 positions where a true freshman can come in and contribute immediately. The lines are the most important positions to fill first in a coaches tenure, so they can have time to adjust and learn the schemes and positions. Once the line depth gets to where it needs to be you can throw in a stud frosh or two along with the depth players and thats how you win. Inside then out.

tl;dr We build our lines, get some depth and throw in a play-maker or two, then we can focus future classes more on Skill positions and add top talent to the lines

  • And for some reason other team's fans forget that Fitz had a 1000 yard season and he has averaged 5.8 yards per carry in his career. But he sucks and isn't a playmaker. roflmao

To be fair the guys we are recruiting now probalby won't be playing much with Fitz since he will be a 5th year when these guys are true frosh.

  • I guess some may just consider "skill" guys as QB, RB, and WR. We have our QB and will be getting our top WR and RB in the remaining spots.

  • How many playmakers did Stanford have? Luck...thats it. A big O Line...check....oustanding QB...check....OLine opens up holes and makes our backs look like all american's and Shane will just make our WR's all american's. Nuff Said

Congrats on the commitment guys, very good player. I have a couple honest questions for you guys...

How many spots left? This isnt a flame, but does the lack of playmakers concern you guys? Also who do you think fills out your class or what positions are you aiming to fill with the rest of the class?

Thanks for not flaming...Question for you..How many playmakers do the Bucky's have? The last time I checked, your 2013 class is lucky enough to still be in the top 10...no flame.blank

  • I think Jalin Marshall is a "playmaker" so that is conceded

Lack of playmakers is not a concern because the class is not finished yet. Michigan wanted to take 5 OL and they have 5 commits. I don't care when they commited, they are going to sign 5 come next Feb. It is not like they are looking to fill 5 more spots in this class with OL. Look at what the coaches are doing with LB recruiting; they like their position with a couple kids and are now turning kids away who want to visit.

They will get commitments from a top RB (most likely Isaac) and a couple more WR (Treadwell and a slot guy). Butt is a playmaking TE, imo.

As for depth, they signed two WR last year, an electric all-puropose player in Norfleet and a playmaking TE in Funchess.

I really don't see the cause for concern. To me, this argument looks like Bucknutters grasping for something to make themselves feel better about Hoke doin work, sons.
