Hopefully this time our fans will remember these events are NOT kind to QB's, so even if Wilton struggles in the game we shouldn't go jumping off cliffs.

I don't think the majority did. We all saw how bad Georgia's commit Ramsey and Hackenberg looked and just accepted it. The issues arises when other fanbases put the Michigan commits under the microscope and harp on how bad he looked, regardless of how bad other players preform.

The Army game is a better spot for QB's IMO, but glad to see him going to a game anyway.
Hopefully he balls out.

The MSU board was ripping this recruit right and left ... shaking their heads on it. I am curious what their 'braintrust' would say now.

What does it matter what MSU fans think? They are buffoons. Although, if they land O'Connor, they could definitely make a case for having the better QB prospect. The Michigan coaches felt that Speight was and is number 1, so I'm alllllll good with it.......and am highly intrigued by Speight.

They actually practice and run drills. This means the QBs can actually develop a rapport with their WRs and the OL can gel. They're not just doing 1 on 1 drills and 7on7 like the UA game. The UA game practices have just turned into a camp, they don't practice. It's really annoying.
The Army and Semper Fi games are much cleaner.

I didn't know that. I guess it doesn't help that it seems most of the top defensive recruits tend to pick the UA game too.

I am goin to predict speight will be a top 3 QB for espn. Only for the fact they love consistency and accuracy. This kid is elite as far as accuracy. mobility and arm strength is suspect. But shane got dumped in the rankings for bad accuracy n inconsistency. Accuracy > arm strength.
I still wish we took cornwell instead tho.

I'm happy for him. Especially coming back from the injury. Kids, that deal with adverse situations early in their careers ooze character.. Speight seems to have plenty to go around.

Having a QB in the AA games is always a good thing regardless of how they perform. They are the leader's of a team. Other recruits seeing that Top QB's are going to Michigan will only further their interest. I am very pleased by this!

Anyone take a second look at his highlights? Of course I was (illogically) skittish as he wasn't on an of the scouting service's radars (and I say "illogically" because the coaches saw him in person), but after viewing his highlights again..
At first I thought I saw questionable arm strength, but I think that is a result of the early part of the film showcasing touch passes. I *did* see a few *almost* frozen ropes, and I was really looking for some deep outs or 15 yard outs to see what that was about. And...I didn't know that he works out with Clarkson monthly. THAT should also speak volumes.
Am really curious to see how this all develops/how he plays on the circuit.

People knocking him for being a "no body". I just don't think just anyone gets AA game invites.
