What I see is two Sparties on our board trying to make an issue out of something that's not an issue. Speight was granted an extra year of HS eligibility because he missed his junior year do to an injury. That's it. That's the entire story. It's not important what Spartyland thinks of it.

Still curious about it, both my brothers and a few friends coach high school sports here in MI and I've never heard of anything like it. I can think of 1-2 kids off the top of my head who could have had a much better shot at college sports with an extra year to recover and play again.

Makes sense, I've never heard Johnny Football was a 5 year hs player too. Most of the kids I'm thinking of played hockey, thats a sport where often you know really early if the kid will be a stud/have a legit shot at the nhl, an extra year in HS to get college looks might not be worthwhile.
