  • How tall is Wilton Speight? I was under the impression that Harris was 6'4", and Campbell was 6'5", but they both look to be the same height and each one looks at least 3 inches shorter than Speight.

    Heights are usually exaggerated, so I'd go Harris at 6'3" Cole at 6'4" and Speight at 6'6". Camera angle might have had something to do with it too.

    Well I thought Speight was 6'6" Cole is listed at 6'5" That'd make Ferns 6'3" Harris 6'3" and Campbell 6'4". Hard to tell with how they are standing.

    Speight got injured in the first game of his junior season, or possibly before, and got an extra year of eligibility. So this past season was a redo of his junior year. If he looks like a senior, its because he should be.

    Thats news to me...I thought you either graduate high school in 4 years, or it takes you 5+ because you suck at school??

    Yeah, if you go to a prep school you can usually reclassify.

    You still have to complete all of your core classes in the first 4 years IIRC and the 5th year is a postgraduate year, like Mitch McGary and a bunch of other b-ball prospects use all the time.

  • Collegiate is a private school but does not have post grad. Wilton repeated his junior year after breaking his collarbone diving fpor the pylon in the 2nd or 3rd game. He is a legit 6'6 and a good student. This kid is underrated and you guys will see how much so at The Opening this spring and in the Elite 11 camps. Big kid with a strong, underrated arm. Collegiate plays in the same league with Hackenburg and I would rather have Wilton.

    IIRC, McGary repeated the 11th grade because his parents thought he needed the extra year to mature.

  • Just curious, how does a sports injury cause someone to repeat a year of school? Something like the Shane Morris situation I could understand because mono can negatively affect school work as well, but you phrased that like it was a common sense thing.

    Depending on the injury, I could see it affecting schoolwork. At the very least, a broken collarbone would make it difficult if not impossible to write/type.

    I'm not sure what Speights situation is but it is becoming increasingly popular in some areas for athletes to do high school in 5 years so they can develop more. If I'm not mistaken "Johnny Football" did the same thing.
