  • Well, let us put it in perspective. Who does OSU play that has a DL that really is national caliber, until Michigan?

Maybe...maybe...MSU and Nebraska. That is basically it.

So the OSU OL will probably look fantastic for most of the year. Doesn't mean they are the best in the country. I still think they would get pounded by a Alabama/LSU/Georgia/Texas A&M defensive line. And maybe ours as well, depending.

They don't play either MSU or Nebraska this year. The closest they will come to seeing an elite D before playing us is Wisky, PSU or Iowa.

Damn, you are right. I forgot. So that actually strengthens my argument.

Damn Big 10 schedule, I am never going to get it straight.

  • Never seen A fan base who kisses their coach's ass more then OSU they act like a bunch of girls at a Justin Bieber concert talking about the guy. Its really pathetic..Hurd going to UT brings them back down to earth a little bit.

Have you met the MSU fan base and how they act with Dantonio and Izzo?

Yes they are bad USC too but Ohio fans take the cake. They talk up the guy like is god and every player he touches turns into scarlet and gray.

Didn't the 2014 mock class from 11Warriors have Hurd as one of its commitments?

and PSU has to replace the majority of their line, we also dominated Iowa's DL last year

Hurd and Blanding were on it and both of them are off the list.

Kind of my point...and they don't even play Nebraska.

Who do they play that shows they are a national caliber OL?

  • Is Marcelys Jones waivering or is he just looking for attention? I think I saw on another buckeye site that Jones has become enamored with Kentucky lately, which is kind of surprising. And he's also made some shady comments on twitter like "a verbal commitment means nothing until signing day" or something to that effect.

A couple of them also said they weren't surprised because Jones is from Glenville. Implying kids from Glenville cannot be trusted or counted on as OSU locks I guess? Weird.

There's a bad taste in some OSU fans' mouths from Aundrey Walker coming out of Glenville and spurning OSU. It's possible that they foresee Marcelys Jones going the same route - watching his recruitment blow up and committing to a big-time western or southern school.

I do think Jones will continue to look at other schools. I "believe" he will end up at tOSU.

The last story out on him was he tweeted something to the effect of "Hard to say no to the SEC" or something like that.

The OSU coaches (I'm assuming Urban and/or Wariner) asked him if he was committed, he answered "All Buckeye", they told him to "knock it off" then. I would think they would allude to hurting recruiting if he was perceived as wavering....hasn't tweeted anything like that since.

with that said, who knows. Urban said it best when he said "If a kid says he is committed, that means you are in his top 3"

Except maybe in Drake Harris' case with MSU over the last month..

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. Lol, they sure do hold grudges.

Hmmmn.......isn't Marshon Lattimore from Glenville too?

I'm not too worried about DE. We've got Big Ten D freshman of the year Deion Barnes returning, who had around 5 sacks last year. Kid looks really good. On the other side, we've got two guys who have not been starters, but got a good amount of playing time last season in Anthony Zettel and CJ Olaniyan. I expect the former to win the job.

DT is a question mark for the most part. We have a returning starter who was OK, not great last year. The other spot is up for grabs among several unknowns.

    ohio

If I had to bet, I would say OSU too. But a month ago I would have said that was 99% chance, and now, maybe it is only 50% or something.
