Will Meyer be left with scraps at OL?

Well since we won't be utilizing a true TE, I don't consider it a position on our team.

As for the DT's, since only 2 are on the field at a time, I still like OSU's smaller yet talented group.

Wait, what? There are only ever 2 DEs on the field either. How is this a rationalization that your DTs are better?

As for the DT's, since only 2 are on the field at a time, I still like OSU's smaller yet talented group.

It's not a shocker we both like our team better than the other.......that's why we are on the side we chose....

I feel like I'm discussing with a child. I present facts and then you rebuttal with your opinion.

I like fact to TAMU, The last 2 OSU classes were ranked ahead of Michigan's, makes it easier than writing down every player at every position, especially since many will play different positions when they get to college, but that's what makes it fun.

Thanks for responding with facts. While, you guys have had higher ranked classes, it's really splitting hairs, considering both are top-5ish classes. I was merely trying to show how it's splitting hairs by the fact that it's pretty much an even split in terms of talent at each position.

There is a lot to like about the last two Michigan classes, I would be willing to trade you a corner for a tackle, lol! I only hope to see in the near future more BIG teams in the top 20, I would love to see our conference become more balanced, how fun is basketball this year, I want a football conference like that! Sick of hearing that stupid chant, SEC, SEC, well I guess we should be happy that they figured how to spell it! Question is, how many would know what it stands for :)

I agree with this. Both classes have been great the past two years and there are very few players I would swap (mostly CB). The two programs are getting most of their needs filled with high quality talent. I also love how good B10 basketball has been the past two years. Let's hope it continues.

What facts? It has pretty much been opinion....What fun would a board be if there were no opinions?

Ok, fact....our classes have been ranked higher.....

Doesn't mean much since as I've said, we won't know if any of these boys play a down or not...

I just believe that OSU has had better all around recruiting, filling the needs that we were lacking, which was playmakers on both sides of the ball.

I understand you have had awesome OL recruiting...

    God you're stupid.

Keep focusing on our OL recruiting, it will blind you from the other talent we're bringing in.

You really are dumb. I showed you with facts how UM has had just as good of recruiting across the board and that you're really splitting hairs when it comes to the difference between the 4th class and the 6th class.

Dude, I'm NOT arguing with you....As I said, YOU like your class better and I like ours better. What's the difference??

We both got pieces to our own puzzles, and also as I said, it's all for not right now as we won't know anything until these guys produce on the field.

OSU now is based on speed, on both sides of the ball, UM is based on what they want, power football, control LOS and such..

I am excited with ours because I believe it is the way to compete across the board, you are excited for yours because you believe the same....

We are in a holding pattern to see who's system is going to beat the other. Won't know tomorrow, so all we can do is talk about it right now.

    Not intending on ruffling feathers

Poor Buckeyes ... they've been Rich Rod'd and don't even know it yet. It's going to be a very frustrating few years in Columbus.

well having the winningest coach in CFB putting the team together to "try" to match what he put together at UF will be ok with me. Difference is, RR totally forgot about the defense. Urban is prioritizing it. Comparing RR to Urban...tsk tsk...

But Urban doesn't know how to teach his defenders to tackle. I'm sure they will figure it out in a few years, but that won't cut it when you have to take down Derrick Green.

What's that noise? Oh they're just moving the chains again.

Yeah, I'm thinking he will be totally "untackleable".... He'll probably rush for 400 yards/game.

Anybody who likes spread style football, because clearly that is what he was implying. Deserves a tsk tsk. Am I saying that versions of the spread don't work, nope. However it is a sucky style of football that is for sure. The people that usually like the spread truly don't like football for what it is. Hard, smash mouth, hit you in the face, coming down hill, thumping each other football. Most people that like the spread also love video games, and think because they play video games they are an expert of football.

I apologize for the harsh generalizations a head of time, I realize they are there. I just hate the spread game as a base offense in football.

Hey, it's ok with us too. It will be very entertaining watching Urbie try to replicate what he did at UF given that (1) he no longer has an entire roster full of top Florida talent to work with and (2) college defenses have "caught up" in terms of defending spread offenses.

Urbz doesnt need his teams to be as good as they were in Florida, in fact they can have flaws and be worse. Just look at last season. The B1G is such a joke, there is no competition, even a flawed Ohio team went undefeated. The gap between the rest of the B1G will remain open. Its good that a playoff will occur in 2014, because Michigan will be the only thing (unless they finally play worthy OOC games) preventing Ohio from making a playoff year after year. Not playing in the gauntlet of the SEC is the easiest way for Urbz to bypass Saban and hope he doesnt have to face him in the BCS or in a Playoff.

Just for the record, Urban is not the winningest active coach.

I think Urban has more Big Ten wins than RR...if not, he is very close. Frustrating may be the case. From 12-0, there is only one way to meet expectations. So you are right, one loss would be frustrating.

Gerry Dinardo probably has more B10 wins than RR. It's not exactly a high bar.

???? the spread is 10x's more fun to watch then (3 yds and a cloud of dust)...

as for what is more successful? well, time will tell...

tress went 12-0 with the most boring o ever

urban went 12-0 with a very exciting o, so both are proven to work...

as far as hard, smash mouth football, urban runs that too, look at our rb's; hyde, r smith, dunn (these are not little scat backs)

i know urbz didnt recruit hyde and smith, but he did close on dunn and is offering some big backs going forward...

i will admit, i was (and still am to an extent) torn about the idea of running the spread, however, if complimented with some power and real tough d's, i think (and hope) it can work...

of course, in the end, i will take the w (being it smash mouth or spread) but ya gotta admit, its more fun watching your team score 30 plus vs winning 10-7 (see tress ball)

You know what is fun to watch? Winning. Don't care if you are in the spread or not.

As for smash mouth, the only time I really saw Urban run that was with Tebow, which is kind of unique. He might do it with Braxton I guess. But that is not his preferred play style.

No doubt Meyer likes and wants the option of having fast game breakers on offense. I must admit he also did a very good job of using a 235 lb back named Hyde last year with just under 1,000 yards for the season after missing a couple games with injury. OSU also did a decent job of playing "smash mouth" the last 5-6 minutes of last years game with the game still on the line. The key to any offense, pro style or spread, is having many options rather than less. I think Michigan and OSU will both have very good offenses in the future. OSU may have the early edge until UM completely transforms to the por offense. The key is who has the better defense to stop it the other.
