There is no comparison between the two. I said to forget about Meyer for a minute. Lets compare Hoke with the other coaches in the conference. Obviously Michigan has the best program and recruiting prowess of the rest. Ferentz , Fitzgerald, beliema, obrien, are all higher thought of nationally for jobs than hoke. Put them at um and watch out. Put them at osu and watch out. Again, hoke may turn out to be the next saban. I haven't seen it yet.
I try to be respectful as a visitor and like the conversations. Why the hostility?
Osu is in a unique position in the conference. If we get a guy like tressel that wants to take the best from Ohio and really focus on Midwest we can hurt the big ten by taking players that would go to other big ten schools. The rest of the conference suffers and we dominate, however we lose to teams in bowl games that recruit nationally and get the elite national talent. If we go nationwide there are more ohio players helping other big ten schools including Michigan. We are ultimately better able to compete with the sec and USC but the conference is harder to navigate. Many of the players we don't get when going national stay in big ten. Other big programs can't go nationwide to get comparable players.

"Exciting" is not the word I would use to describe it. I'd use the compound "ulcer-inducing" lol.
I think if we lost Taivon Jacobs (very possible, he's looking to maybe stay in Maryland with his 1 year old daughter) and Zeke we'd be okay. OSU has plenty of depth at RB and WR, especially with Dontre Wilson now who could fill in at either spot in a pinch.
Losing Trey Johnson would be CRUSHING, though. He adds much, much needed LB depth. Recall that we had to use a FB to fill in at MLB last year.

I really don't think losing one 3* recruit calls for saying our class is "FALLING APART" Come tomorrow EZE and Trey will both be Buckeyes. I don't get into all the rumor games that goes around near NSD and if something did happen that Trey or EZE decided to go elsewhere then we just move on! Not speaking for all OSU fans but we/i only want the guys that are 100% committed to the program so if they are wavering then it is what it is..

They will be playing 2 different positions and that is what Urban has sold both of them! No way Wilson can play purely RB in the B1G..Just not going to happen! Urban recruited EZE to be the workhorse 20 to 25 carries and Wilson will play Slot and be the quick screen and run reverses and those type of play's. Im not going to sit here and say Wilson will never line up in the backfield because its going to happen just not as frequent as some may think!

You could be right but I'm banking on his visit to Mizzou being more of a curtsy type visit...at least that is what we are hoping for! Yes the Wilson recruitment did scare him but i mean cmon man teams get commits from multiple recruits at the same position and if Wilson is going to scare EZE to the point he goes somewhere else then i say kick rocks! Recruit's cant be scared of competition because if they are then don't commit to one of the top football programs because at every position at a top program there will be competition to see who the starters will be! Same goes for michigan..you guys wouldn't want someone who is scared of competition!

WOTS in St. Louis is that Elliot isn't considering a flip because he's scared of competition, it's because Meyer lied to him about being the only back in the class. People can say whatever they want about Dontre Wilson playing the slot, but Dontre is a versatile athlete who will take some RB touches away from Elliot, so Elliot might see him as another RB, and thus a broken promise from Meyer.

How do you know this past year's defense will be the weakest? What if your dc leaves or your recruiting doesn't work out how they thought? It only takes one level of the d to be hit by injury or poor development to have the whole thing go south. Look at our lb situation. Top 2 defense in the country after Boren moved to lb. before that we couldn't stop anyone. Plenty of high star talent at lb but some guys didn't work out.
Do you think that couldn't happen to um?
I don't think it is unreasonable to think that osu might get a big lead on Michigan at some point in the next few games. They could get way down too. Who knows?
Just loving a little rivalry chat with the bball game coming up and the lack of football in the near future.I also don't think Meyer had tons of five star recruits this year or any year at Utah or bg. They seemed to do just fine on offense.

Will Meyer be left with scraps at OL?
