Even if he wasn't projected to start (which I don't think he was) their depth is already miserable. They've got multiple converted guys on the 2-deep already - TE Reid Fragel is starting at LT, and they converted DT Darryl Baldwin too for some depth. At this rate, they'd almost be better off getting one of those amazing DLs they keep recruiting to play two ways.
Any hits to their depth are just going to be exacerbated by this anemic class. Even if they do manage to get a full slate of OLs, the talent is going to be mighty thin at this point.

He fell to third on the depth chart behind Linsley and Little Boren in spring ball. Word was he was having trouble adding weight so rather than being buried on the depth chart he decided to leave. It was a little disappointing considering he was good prospect when he came in.

CUM is a very, very good recruiter. We saw him in the SEC. He knows the pieces he needs to build a winner for his style of play and he gets them. He may be satisfied with what he sees in what is already there and is emphasizing other areas of his needs.............do not count him short....he can recruit.....he will probably be in front of Michigan by year end.

Well hell, I just recruited next year's cast of The Biggest Loser to play at Michigan, clearly I'll have an amazing OL!
Weight doesn't equate to talent. Ohio State is bereft of talent on the OL to the point where their choices at LT are a converted TE or a true freshman - that's not a position any top CFB team ever wants to be in.

Not sure where this came from but it is false. LT will be Jack Mewhort who was a highly rated OL coming in and has started at several positions on the OL. The OL will not be the strength of the team and certainly we haven't done as well as you guys in OL recruiting, but the depth is not nearly as bad as you all seem to think and is probably better now than it has been over the last few years. We have a pretty good 2 deep with not a lot behind that.

Well, the 2 deep that was initially released had Reid Fragel starting at LT, and a lot of people have been talking about Taylor Decker potentially outperforming him. I didn't know Mewhort was in the mix, but it also remains to be seen if he'll be able to start the season.

Will Meyer be left with scraps at OL?
