Love the freak-out by all our rivals about this one - MSU especially. Our 'luxury LBer' would've been the lowest ranked of our LBer commits and yet would've been the highest ranked recruit on any B1G team not OSU or PSU. It would've given Michigan 16 recruits rated better than MSU's best recruit. Damn, guess we'll just have to settle with 15 for now.

I think it's a bit to early to dub him as a difference maker we haven't had in 10+ years, much like I believe it's difficult to label any incoming recruit as that important. You just don't know what they will do when they get on campus.

Well had we gotten Levenberry our rivals would be posting about how he fell 100 spots in the rankings. It's a tough loss but LB is a strength right now so this doesn't sting as much.

There really needs to be some sort of regulation as to who can start a thread on here. Maybe restrict to star ratings or number of posts from the user. There has been an influx of these types of posts asking strange questions that have the stench of Sparty/Ohio trolls. There have been multiple threads discussing this and if you have a question like this then you can ask it in the 2013 recruiting thread. It's generally not a problem but it is becoming annoying to have to sift through these random threads to find meaningful discussions. I think the mods have already locked a half dozen threads in the past few days because of this problem.

I've seen this rumor, but I'm not sure. And I don't know how I would feel about it if he did. Assuming we get Poggi, I would rather wait awhile before offering someone like Gibbs. He does not look like he's going anywhere based on his offer list and better prospects might emerge over the summer or even in the fall.

I didn't mean that he would affect Poggi, but rather that if we get Poggi we are in a fine position whether we take another DT in this class or not. As for alienating Gibbs, well, then all the other top schools in the Midwest are in the the same boat. And there are a number of uncommitted DTs with UM offers already who I would rank higher (and I'm not even including Adams or Vanderdoes). There is one kid out of Utah and another out of Alabama (can't remember their names right now). And there's Munger out of Cleveland. And who knows how many as of yet unidentified kids might blow up over the summer or during their senior seasons in the fall. I'm sorry if that is frustrating to Gibbs, but there is a reason he didn't get any early UM offer and most of his offers are from MAC schools.

Wow... Really? Dave Harris was just here in 06. Better phrase would have been we have not had a difference maker at linebacker since Rich Rod took over and almost ran the program into the ground. That is being rectified and has been rectified.
