    Just got to be selective on the threads to participate on. It seems like every thread ends in a flame war.

    That's why I only post in the BF3 thread for the most part. I want to avoid all the bullsheet.

    It falls on tBB mods. The problem posters cannot get away with this stuff on their home boards, so they do it on tBB. The Founding Fathers thread was started last night by several LNC posters for the purpose of getting banned. They said so in the LNC thread. They intentionally posted a bunch of homophobic stuff in the Founding Fathers thread hoping that some of us would complain to the mods and cause a kerfuffle. As it turned out, no one apparently complained. So, when that plan failed, they started a second thread asking to have all the Michigan posters banned from tBB. They are like bored (and usually drunk) children seeking attention.

  • I don't understand why people get so upset at the topics over there. It's tBB for a reason. You shouldn't take it seriously like you should your homeboard. tBB is just a place for fans of opposing teams to gather and just talk trash or discuss random topics.

    The only reason I would get upset over it is because it used to actually be a great place to have conversations.
    Now, it is full of nonsense that gets praised for being nonsense and posters who bring no football knowledge and just flames and trolls get praised for it.

    If we wanted to hang out on a board like Rivals, many of us would have stayed there. This place was supposed to be different. And I can go anywhere on the Internet and get all the racist, bigoted commentary I want. I'm not interested in that and if that is what tBB turns into I won't visit there much longer. But according to 247's rules and the post pinned to page one by JC Schurburt a couple weeks ago, that stuff is not supposed to be on tBB. So, for now, I'm taking them at their word.

    Actually, I couldn't care less about that. They can mock us all they want. But the racism and bigotry has to stop.

    You aren't a minority on tBB, you're an SEC fan, so don't act like you totally understand our plight. thumbsup

    We started a petition that any sane person should agree with to keep the site clean from slurs that got 200 upvotes. They're still mad at us and none of us know why they are so pissed off about the petition that they are blaming us 4 weeks later. How would you feel if the entire Arkansas fanbase was being blamed for being anti-racism?

    I tend to agree with you here. I have the sense to know that certain topics are ones I don't want to read, or know are flaming the Michigan fanbase. I stay away from those, and ignore them instead of throwing gas on the fire.

    tBB popularity has gone up a lot since I've started posting on 247, and it's almost natural that you're are going to get more fringe fans and flaming as a result of. I just ignore it. It definitely ticks me off to see Michigan fans bashed for no good reason, but you've just got to ignore it and post or not post. Arguing with folks that have no interest in actual argumentation is pointless. In fact this was one of the main discussion points of my rhetoric class a semester ago. How do you argue with those that don't follow the same lines of arguing that you are following? No real good answer was ever discovered.

    You are missing the point that it actually used to be a good place to talk football. If I wanted to ignore it, why come here at all? It causes this entire site a huge dis-service as I would likely never have become a member if tbb was not a good board to talk football when I got here.
    It is actually likely I would not be a paying member if I found it right now.

    I'm not missing the point, and I agree with what you said. I'm just dealing in the reality that is the tBB, and it's that reality that keeps me from posting there as much as I used to.
