Agree to disagree. Regarding the rest of your post, both team's classes are going to have prospects with and without offers from each rival, it doesn't make a prospect inferior or elite. Both staffs are going to recruit who they see fit and sometimes those paths don't cross on the recruiting trail. We have 4* without offers from you guys the same way you have 4* without offers from us. Both teams are going to recruit well year in and year out, anyone who disagrees is delusional or a blatant homer. I have no problem giving props where props are due, Elliot is a good pickup for you guys just not for us, it works both ways with some of our prospects for you guys.

Granted you have talent on O but it's still a completely new system and a new blocking scheme. Most likely, there will be growing pains as everyone gets used to it. How long that is, is yet to be seen. Maybe it's just a couple games, maybe it's more, nobody really knows until they get out there on gameday.

The biggest struggle will be the OLine. Replacing Shugarts, Adams, Brewster, Zach Boren (FB), and Herron is hard enough, throw in a likely new blocking scheme and it will surely be an area of concern. We had much worse talent on the OL when RR took over, but what was really painful that year was watching the obvious protection mistakes being made which were getting our RBs and QBs killed by unblocked defenders.

The hard part isn't necessarily getting kids to learn the system, the hard part is getting them comfortable in it. Players excel when they feel comfortable in the system and can react to the game instead of over thinking. That was part of Denard's problem last year. You want kids playing fast and reacting, not think over thinking about who to block, where to run, checkdowns, etc.

That's fair. Our new staff values speed over almost anything else. Love is football fast. That's a reson why we didn't pursue Geodon, other than He said we didn't focus on academics while talking to him even though we stopped going after Bob Foster because he didn't want to hear about academics.

There's zero evidence to suggest that Thomas would flip and endless evidence that suggests he'll sign with Michigan. Ohio wanted Gedeon and bucknuts will deny that any player was pursued hard if they commit elsewhere. Gedeon fits the mold of the LBs that Urban took at Florida and it makes no sense to offer the kid on Jan 29 and then not pursue him within a month later. Urban has been selective with offers and you don't just offer a kid and then not pursue him because he isn't fast enough. If this were true then the offer would not have been on the table in the first place. The notion that Urban is recruiting for national championships and Michigan is only looking to compete in the Big Ten is buckeye arrogance at its best. It's simply different players in different systems. Gedeon is a player that would have worked in both.

I don't know all that much on Urban's spread but to run out of the spread, you're going to need blocking on the edge(WR's) and strength at the point of attack. How confident are you that your WR's can block to create running lanes for your ground game? Assuming it's a spread option, then Braxton isn't going to have to make correct reads on the ground game but the passing game shouldn't be complex and most of the checkdowns will take place from the sidelines, that's a good and bad thing. If you do see struggles during the season, it'll most likely be upfront and creating a ground game with just the RB's. The spread means Braxton is probably going to have to take more responsibility, which is a lot of pressure for a sophomore JMO.

What will Gedeon bring to Michigan?
