What recruits are leaning heavily towards UM?

  • Maize&Blue said...

I don't think we have been exactly hostile to him. I expressed my opinion that I think he is giving Meyer too much credit for his recruiting abilities. Am I not allowed to express my opinion about that when we are discussing Ohio state's recruiting? I think him including Tunsil and LTT in his list for Ohio State recruits and saying you can't count out Meyer is giving Meyer too much credit. That is my opinion and I believe I can express that opinion here. I did not call Huburt names, did not tell him to leave or anything of that nature.

I respect your opinion, I just fee Urban is a great recruiter and coach.

I think the 22-25 is based off of Urbs cleaning house, which is already taking place. How many more players must leave to have your roster reach the 82 limit and when does the roster have to be at 82?

We are at 82 right now, based on what i have heard he have to be at 82 by spring ball.

We like to have people from other fanbases come over, actually talk football and not flame/troll, so far you've done a good job.

Again, I went to the game this year in AA and im sure if any of you would have seen me you would want to punch me in the face. With that said I hate UM but i respect them. Hoke and Mattison have a good thing and you should be proud. I didnt come here to talk censored just wanted to get some info and have a little debate.

lol No worries! We're all happy to have our current staff even though I was one of the ones who thought it was Harbaugh or bust. It's the best rivalry in sports, it wouldn't be right if we didn't hate each other. I look forward to another 10 year war. goblue

Look as a OSU fan I wil say this. Mattison took a JV D and made them pretty good. Hoke Impressed me he changed his offense to work with the players he had. He didnt try to make a square go through a circle hole. With that said I want to see what happens next year. Your going to have a much harder road this year compared to last year. What are you guys thinking as far a Ws next year? It looks like its going to be TOSU and UM for the BIG the next couple years no one else can recruit. Are you guys woried about us gettin Urban?

Yeah, the coaching staff really impressed me last year, this year should be a lot tougher. I'm expecting us to be a better team but maybe with one less win. I think anywhere from 9-11 wins and competing for the B1G championship is possible. I know some of our fanbase is probably a little worried but I would say that the majority of us aren't. You're OSU and you're going to recruit well no matter who the coach is but I think we feel confident in our staff's recruiting focus of the Midwest, there's enough talent for both schools to recruit top 5 classes. I think both teams will be the class of the B1G for years to come(the way it should be).

Do you think you guys will run a more pro set this year? I think you guys need a true single I RB sooner rather than later. You guys had a good/great class this year but i didnt see you guys pic up any paly makers did i miss anything?

I think you could see a little more of the pro style but you don't really want to hinder what Denard does. We needed depth along the lines because of the RR years, we took a couple of playmakers, not really anyone that can contribute right away but then again we don't really need immediate contribution from them. We return most of our WR's and our starting RB, we will need someone to step up at TE, though. The offensive playmakers in our class would be Devin Funchess(3/4* TE/WR out of Michigan), Dennis Norfleet(4* Slot Receiver/KR/PR), Amara Darboh(4* WR out of Iowa) and Jehu Chesson(underrated 3* WR out of Missouri).

  • Also to your comment about RB, we return Fitz Toussaint, our starting RB, he's probably more comfortable out of the spread but he was an I form guy in high school. He's a one cut type of runner. That's really a need though for our 2013 class and our staff seems to be putting all of their efforts on Ty Isaac.

Until they sign on the dotted line...this "commit" status isn't really much. These kids can change their mind like the wind.

For next year I am thinking we lose to Bama and then split the road games with Neb and Ohio State. I have us going 10-2 and winning the division. I believe we will win the Big Ten conference championship game as well and go to the Rose Bowl. We may lose at Notre Dame in the non-conference but that wouldn't change anything as far as us going to the Rose Bowl.

I am not worried about Urban at all. I really don't understand why Buckeye fans think we should be worried or scared( I see that word all the time being used by Buckeye fans). Ohio State is a power program and that's what i expect from them. Minus the RR years Michigan was a power program right along with Ohio State. Urban being at Ohio State changes nothing about the fact that both Ohio State and Michigan can be power programs at the same time.

Most instances I agree but Dymonte and Shane are firm with their commitments, and aren't going anywhere.

That's certainly true, and I'm sure Meyer will go after him hard. But I do still think we'll ultimately hang on to him. He's built bonds with the coaches and wih Morris and seems like a kid who cares about keeping his word. Having a great leader on offense (Morris) and on defense (Thomas) already in the 2013 class is fantastic.

When Dymonte shows the least bit of interest in them (like, any level of interest greater than zero), then I will reconsider.

As long as he is trying to recruit people to Michigan and only says pro-Michigan things...not too worried.

I get the feeling we are going to need this repeated about every 2 weeks until next years signing day.

DE/LB Taco Charlton (leader) LB Ben Gedeon (leader) LB EJ Levenberry (top 3) LB Dorian O'Daniel (top group) CB Jourdan Lewis (leader)

And a ton of MI/OH kids that we would lead for if we offer, these are only guys with offers.

I'm probably missing a lot, that's just off the top of my head.

Don't forget about Howland(Ohio) RB DeVeon Smith. I believe we lead for him also and he grew up a huge Michigan fan which is a great for us. Ty Issac and Smith would be a scary good combo if we could snag both guys!

I never said we were going to get him. Trust me I want him and I think we have a chance. The question is, is that a 1% chance or a 30% chance. The last article i read on him he sounded firm in his commitment.

He is Dunn's cousin and it is almost another year until he would sign. I would rather him stay with us than go to Urban Lyer....but until he is signed...he isn't ours.

This is just the opinion of a biased OSU fan but this is pretty much how we see it. I'm sure you wont agree. The Reason OSU fans think he should be feared is because we believe he is going to change the BIG. We are expecting him to lock up the top 8-10 players in Ohio and then fill the class with the nations best. We are expecting BIG domination In recruiting and on the field. We know UM is on the rise we just think we have the better man for the job in Urban. Again this is just a biased OSU fans perspective.

I think thats the new attitude teams in the BIG need to take. UM and OSU seem to get that but MSU,PSU, and Wisky get a butt hurt when a kid changes his mind before he signs.
