What recruits are leaning heavily towards UM?

  • OSU fan here, not trying to start anything I am just curious what recruits are early UM leans. I see you have a lot of top 100 kids pretty high on UM and wanted to know who you felt good about getting?

    LaQuon Treadwell was a Michigan lean, not sure now.
    Jaron Dukes probably will commit soon.
    Chris Fox from Colorado
    Corner from Cass Tech, can't remember his name...
    Jake Butt
    Taco Charlton
    Logan Tuley Tillman has Michigan and Alabama as his top schools

    ^^ off the top of my head.

    Other guys have Michigan in their top 3/5 but aren't really "leans"

    Dukes - Its just a matter of days until he commits unless he gets a OSU offer which i dont think he will bc he doesnt really fit OSUs offense. Even if he did I still think he ends up with you guys.

    Jake Butt - I think OSU gets him hes from the heart of OSU country but if we dont offer soon i think he could end up going north.

    Taco - Is going north unless he starts to feel the love from the SEC

    I hope OSU can get Tuley but i know he has visited UM 4-5 times and seems like a lean in your direction.

    Whats the word with Ty Isaac? He seemed to have a strong interest in UM.

    Conversely, can you list kids that have OSU in their top groups? I'm curious as well. I think we are going to see a close battle year in and year out.

    I think you guys get Ben Gedeon. Hope we offer Butt soon if we do i think we become his leader. IMO you really need to get Ty Isaac and Laquon. You guys had a nice class this year but really need a playmaker and a bigger pro style back.

    ATH Marshall - OSU commit
    QB Zaire - we are also looking at a couple other top 10 DT QBs but the money is on Zaire to fill that position.
    RB Green - OSU lean might not have a spot because are class will be small next year and he is playing on signing 3 weeks after signing day
    RB Isaac - would love to get him i think we make his top 3 but something tells me we don't get him but you never know with Urban
    WR Foster - Big time playmaker I think we get him but its so early and kids always say good things after a visit.
    WR Gibson we got his HS teammate this year in Kyle Dodson - It looks like OSU or Auburn for him. I like are chances
    TE Baugh - Hes from Cali i like are chances we make his top 3 and have a good chance to get him.
    OL Tunsil Bivin Lisle Tillman - If we offer peterson i think we get him he was Braxtons center is HS. Not sure we offer if we get the OOS kids.
    DT Price - OSU lock would be shocked if we don't get him.
    DL Bosa from FL SSDE has ties to OSU to early to call I think we make his top 3.
    LB Smith - Kimborough - We are in Smiths top 3, His brother plays for OSU. I like are chances. Kimborough if we offer we are his favorite. I think we offer him this weekend.
    CB Burrows - Woodward - Burrows already a OSU commit, Woodward is only a matter of time. Him and Price are the next to commit IMO

    I am trying to be objective but i am a TOSU fan so im sure i am biased

    Urban will do everything in his power to flip Thomas from you guys - well see how that does. hes on recorded saying when you make a commitment you stick with it but you can never count out Urban.

    It seems like Treadwell is a lock for you guys. Isaac is going to be interesting. My gut tells me hes a UM lean but Urban is working booth of these kids right now and nothing can suprise you when hes on the recruiting trail.

    Meyer is a great recruiter but i think you put him up on a pedestal he does not belong on.

    Only time will answer that. He took a 25-35 class to a top 5 in 2 months. Hes ruthless my only concern is he doesnt burn out again. Some stuff went are way with PSU but very few coaches could have done that if any.

    18 - 21 could be as low as 14-16 though.

    Try everything went your way. If psu doesn't have the scandal, your class stays in the 20's.

    Dude I understand that Meyer is a good recruiter but let's be realistic, at least let a recruit say that your in their top group before saying you have a great chance with them. We've been mentioned with Tunsil, Levenberry and a whole bunch of other recruits, just because we have a staff that can recruit doesn't mean I think we have. A GREAT chance to land them all.

    Tunsil has a top 5 and the only school in that not from the south is Michigan. LTT has been to Michigan almost every weekend and really wanted a Bama offer and got it. So, I don't see him going to any other school than Michigan or Bama. I think some of the ND guys feel pretty good about Bivin.

    The thing I think you are failing to realize is some kids are just not interested in Ohio State regardless of whether or not you have Meyer. The same can be said for Michigan. Some kids just have no interest in Michigan. Meyer is not going to be able to walk up to any recruit in the country he wants and get them to go to Ohio State.

    Probably more like 10-15. I could aslo say the same thing about OSU this year with you guys. I think you would have gotten Wormlyand Bolden regardless but Strobel and Kalis are prolly Buckeyes if not for the turmoil.

    I never said we lead for any of those kids. Those are just guys we want. With that said its my fault for not clarifing that in the poston. I put an explenation next to the kids we lead for or have a great shot at.

    Urban is not God but from what i have seen in the last 3 months you can never count him out. Look im sure we are going to loose alot of kids we want. Im pretty sure we dont get half the list I posted. The differance with Urban compared to JT is he casts a big net and always has option a,b,c, and d. JT was a very good recruiter but somtime put all his eggs in 1 basket. I actually think UM will denifit from Urban I think we start only taking 8-12 kids from Ohio and the rest will be OOS kids. I think Michigan will get alot of kids from Ohio becouse we dont even offer.

    I think Jake Butt is ours to lose. I remember seeing a quote from him not to long ago saying Michigan was his leader and it was a wide margin to #2 as well.

    I am sure an Ohio offer would lessen the gap, but I think you guys are just to late at this point.
