What are you most nervous about?

  • I think Floyd has turned into a solid corner, especially over the last year. Disagree.

I agree with you. I thought Floyd played much better and was definetly our best corner the 2nd half of last season.

  • Will Campbell turns out not to have made any strides and Ondre Pipkins is forced to play early against Alabama.

I think regardless how BWC plays PeeWee will see the field against bama. We need to be able to rotate and keep fresh.

  • A legitimate question from a Spartan fan.

How confident is the fan base in Devin Gardner, if he needed to play QB on a regular basis? Denard plays a kind of football that can / has lead to getting nicked up. Gardner is obviously a hell of athlete, but how comfortable with running the offense is he? Could the team survive if Denard can't play a game or 2?

  • One reason I ask, is that this issue is not being talked about at Michigan State, i.e. what happens if our unproven quarterback goes down? What do we really have to back him up.

    1. Denard started every game last year and I'm not worried about losing him for a game or two. Not gonna happen.

    2. If Devin isn't fit to start (because of his duties at WR and possible question marks at QB), Russell Bellomy will be a very adequate replacement. Wouldn't be upset with either of them starting, although we'd obviously be much better off with Denard.

    (1) Not concerned about the jinx i see..

Although I am not a Blue fan and will generally make up reasons not to like them, I confess I like Denard. He obviously has fun playing the game and every time he speaks or I see video of him outside of football, he seems like a really good genuine kid. Personally, I find him a difficult guy to root against most weeks of the year, despite the fact I do not generally want his team to win.

    1. Denard has started every game the last 2 years.

    2. Agreed.

Do you realize that Michigan's backup Gardner, has almost as much experience as MSU's starter Maxwell?

Gardner has 261 career passing yards and 2 TDs.
Maxwell has 294 career passing yards and 1 TD.

Edit: reread that you listed Maxwell as unproven, I initially read that as proven. Good to go, carry on.
