Really enjoying the discussion in the other thread. As a bit of a spin-off, what are you most nervous about when it comes to Michigan's 2012 season?

1. D-line taking too long to gel.

Injuries, but that is every team.
The Dline doesn't produce.
Denard reverts back to throw off of his backfoot.

Everyone says the secondary is considered a strength but I still have not witnessed from a coverage standpoint our secondary being a strength. Kovacs is one of the best in run support and Countess is making strides but the back 4/5 have me more nervous than the front 4.

1) DL starters and lack of depth. Maybe I expect too much, but if you want to compete with the SEC then you have to have a deep rotation with no drop off in talent.
2) WR and TE positions. So many ?????? with these two groups.
3) Denard getting hurt.

We simply have to have someone step up at WR. Either Jerald Robinson or Amarah Darboh have to become a go to WR. Our LB development. Our defense will be as good as Kenny Demens allows them to be. Also, will Desmond Morgan make me angry every other play like he did last year.

The way I look at it it all starts up front. If the big men cant get pressure then it will not matter if you had Woodson, Revis, Reed, and Palomalu in your back 4. As a whole the defense scares me. The RR era is too fresh in my mind. Until we get back into that top defensive form and start getting those elite defensive players I will be scared.

If the coaching staff has to suspend ANY player for being an idiot. Nothing makes me sicker to my stomach than self-inflicted wounds.

Yea, completely agree with you. But I look at what the 3 DL coaches in Hoke, Mattison and Montgomery did with the group last yr, turning a RR fueled liability into a dependable unit. Martin was a monster and RGB was reliable but I wouldn't say either aren't replacable. The potential starting 4 will have those same coaches for a 2nd yr, combine that with the freshman bodies coming in I'm just saying I'm more comfortable with the DL than I am with the secondary. Look at the 40-34 game, that DL was solid towards the end of the yr yet we were burned for a deep score a couple of times and dodged many other bullets as well.

I can agree with that. I just think that most people are more comfortable with the secondary because they are known and as long as they progress instead of regress they will be ok. When it comes to the dline they are unknowns. They are replacing long time starters and leaders on our defense. Now with that being said I really really like our young dline across the board they have alot of potential, but you know what they say about potential it means you havent done it yet and are unproven. +1 to you my friend

If you asked me what I was most anxious to see I would say the dline. If you asked me what I was most uncertain about I would say the dline.
