What are you looking to see in Saturday's game?

  • UMass will most likely be the worst team Michigan plays this season, so it's extremely doubtful that the outcome will be in doubt on Saturday.

With that in mind, what do you most want to see on Saturday?

  • A shut out, and if they score any points it better be against the 2nd string D.

  • The running game(Specifically Toussiant and the other backs) to get going and to continue to expand on what they did in the passing game against Air Force, Denard looks much more comfortable in the pocket. Defensively, it's probably not realistic but too keep UMASS from crossing the 50 or entering the redzone? A shutout or 3-10 points would be more realistic goal.

Someone other then Denard stepping up offensively. See improvement on the defensive side of the ball. Mainly would like to see more of Bolden, Pipkins and the rest of the freshmen. Also havent been too impressed with BWC would like to see him do better.

  • id like to see Fitz get 15-20 dedicated carries. assuming the oline gets solid protection, would love to see Denard have a chance to read through some progression and show the world that he can be an elite passer.

on defense, i want to see the LBs playing sideline to sideline. hopefully the dline gets solid pressure. pretty much the only thing that will prevent a blowout would be if the whole defense got high before the game, so im expecting 2-3 turnovers at least.

  • I'd really like to see many things. 1. Denard not run at all unless on a broken play. 2. Pound the rock, get our running game going. 3. Dink and dunk pass plays with Denard to work on short yardage passing. 4. Give DG and Bellomy as much time as possible at QB. Basically a Pro set under center on offense. On D I'd like to see some issues resolved.

hard to take too much away from this one as bad as umass is but I definetly want to see the running game get going with the backs and not just Denard. Want to see some more from Denard in the passing game, should be getting the ball to Funchess some more as well as Gardener and would really like to see Rountree finally make a strong contribution. Defensively the line needs to show they can generate some pressure, the LB's need to be quicker to the ball and I wana see the db's stayin disciplined and sticking with their wr's. Hopin Toussaint will step up with over 100 yds and would like to see more of the freshman especially Bolden, Ross, Pipkins and Funchess.

What i want to see is Michigan not work on things but instead run the offense the way they want to run it against everyone. I want to see a good mix of Fitz runs, Denard runs and throwing the ball. Hopefully, they come out fully focused like this was the Ohio State game and put up 35+ points in the first half.

Defensively I want to see guys playing for their spots. We have quite a few guys who aren't quite getting the job done and their backups pushing to take their spot in the starting lineup. I want to see every single player who gets in the game play like that starting spot is his.

  • I'd like to see the defense react better and make plays. It also wouldn't break my heart to see some of the freshman take over a couple of starting spots.

  • Great discussion here so far guys! cheers

  • I want to see:

    1) Norfleet special teams TD
    2) Toussaint shove the ball down their throats
    3) Gardner make some highlight catches
    4) Denard not throw any INT's
    5) Freshmen making plays on defense
    6) Shutout, 50+ point margin of victory

  • A shutout, hell Indiana only allowed 7 points.

  • you guys are gonna kill me, but I really want denard to run it 35 times. I want him to have a 300 yard rushing game. if there was ever a game that he can get to 300 it will be this game. and i will like to see pipkins, ross, bolden, mario, richardson, wilson, and darboh play the whole second half.

    Wolverines89

  • I want to see an entire drive (make that an entire scoring drive) where the OL has to run block for the RB (not Denard). They need to get some confidence, and build some chemistry. If I'm Hoke, I challenge them by saying that the RB is going to score, or we won't score at all. Yeah, that sounds a bit crazy, and will likely never happen, but you did as what I WANT to see.

I want to see Denard play the 1st quarter and then sit. For that to happen, we would need to open a sizeable lead obviously. I want to see a frickin' screen pass. I don't know why Borges doesn't call them very much. And with the screen passes, flip one out to Norfleet in space. That would have to be exciting even if it is only partially blocked well.

Defensively, I am hoping to see a lot of push by the DL. The reason the LBs were thought to be a strength going into the season was because the DL last year kept them clean and made them look good. Demens has to step up, or this might be his last start (assuming that he does). I want to see the secondary blanket the opposing WRs. Floyd is solid, and Kovacs is Kovacs, but I want to see Gordon step up big time, and Avery or one of the other CBs steadily improve. I like Taylor, and think he is pretty good in coverage, but he needs to learn to shed a block. I'm looking for Wilson to get meaningful snaps and really start to come into his own.

Let's see mistake free football. No turnovers, limit penalties, play with good technique, play assignment football.

Oh, did I mention a blow out?

  • I would like to see Gardner running crisp routes and Denard getting the ball out on time accurately. Fitz getting back to himself. Possibly Norfleet on the offensive side of the ball.

    Amazinglyblue78

  • Here is what I want to see:
    - Force feed Fitz/Rawls the ball as many times as it takes to get the run game going. We will need a run game for the B1G and this really out last opportunity to work out the kinks.
    - I don't want Denard to reach double digit carries. It gives him an opportunity to work on the passing game and it keeps him fresh for Notre Dame.
    - I want to see the d-line/linebackers heavily rotating. After the last two games, the starters have not proven that they deserve to start and, as a result, need to earn their playing time.
    - I want less than 75 rushing yards allowed by our defense.
    - I want zero turnovers from our offense.
    - I want the game to be out of reach for UMass by the half.

Umass is an absolutely terrible team. This game should be an opportunity to work on all of the areas where we've struggled, build some confidence, and keep everyone fresh for a big game in South Bend. We need this game to be a blowout.

  • Please no burned redshirts!

    UMPat

  • 1. Running game
    2. Shutout
    3. Which QB first subs in for Denard

    SDWolverine

  • Fitz Toussaint. Period. Beast Mode.

  • Desmond Morgan and Kenny Demens watching Joe Bolden and James Ross take their jobs

  • Assignment responsibility out of the interior lines.

Barnum and Omameh both had trouble with giving rushers a free pass and not picking up their man on pulls, and I don't know what to think of the d-line at this point.

    bkp1883

  • Fitz doing anything besides getting tackled in the backfield.

Cosign Denard 300 yards rushing, although I would rather see him get there by busting a few 60 yarders than by actually running him constantly. But if ever there was a game for him to make up for lost time vs Bama and show he'll be a serious threat to Pat White's record, its this game.

Get this situation with the linebackers straightened out.

    No turnovers.

    Cover the damn spread.

    inuyesta

  • The WR's to have a field day, especially DG, Jeremy Jackson, and Funchess.
Fitz to get 100 yards at least.
Denard to stay under 12 carries.
