  • It's probably nothing, but it is worthwhile to point out that Clark and Fitz are on the depth chart. Clark #2 WDE behind Black.

The starting DL is surprising to me with Roh - Washington - Campbell - Black. I'm not sure if it's good news that Washington is starting at NT and Campbell being at DT. IMO, Campbell is a better fit at three tech than one, but I hope that this move (Black back to WDE) is because Washington was impressive and not because Black couldn't step up at DT. Also, Black at 279 is a huge WDE.

No Jehu Chesson in the top 7 WRs is a little surprising, but I like the guys above him with guys like Robinson, Roundtree, Gallon, and Gardner. Gardner listed both as backup QB and 4-5 WR.

Kalis at third team is to be expected for the opener, but I expect that to change as the season nears.

The depth at tackle is terrifying. If one of them gets hurt, we have a walk on or freshmen. Maybe (if Schofield goes down), Omameh would go to RT and Burzynski/Kalis would fill in at OG.

Sounds like Kwiatkowski will get every opportunity to contribute as a walkon at TE, but I think Williams' size and Funchess's athletic ability will make it hard to keep those guys off the field.

It'll be weird having Furman and Norfleet back on KR, but I don't even know if those will matter anymore. It'll be funny having a 7-inch height difference between our two returners.

I'm excited that Ross beat out Hawthorne for the backup WILL spot. That kid's gonna be special.

  • Kind of sucks Mags makes the two deep. He said he didn't EE because he figured he'd RS.

He can still RS though - Lewan plays almost the whole game every time. It's not infeasible to see Magnuson not play this year.

True and I hope that's the case.

  • I think Mealer would move to RT with any injury to a T... He has played it before and worked at RT this offseason... Then Joey bumps into the LG spot... Lets hope for another healthy year especially on the OL

  • Way too much talk about injuries here. Someone is sure to jinx the season at this rate.

Side note: Brian from Mgoblog made a comment about cornerbacks not getting injured that much on their podcast, the fool.

I agree. I think the coaches have planned all along to bump Schofield over if anything happens to Lewan, and then fill the RT slot with either Mealer, Gunderson, or Braden. I see Braden hitting the field well before Magnusson.
