Updated Targets List

  • It took a while, but I finally finished up organizing the targets list. This would be a page I'd bookmark as I'll be updating it as we continue to develop a better idea of who the coaches have where on their board.

  • Great job Steve. Just curious how Ohio is warm on Hand when the top five are listed and I don't see Ohio? Does 247 just put Ohio in on everybody?

I didn't mess with other schools' levels, but that was one I considered changing.

I hear ya. I know there are many recruits from all over the nation and it is difficult to keep up with interest levels, but you would think that the #1 graded prospect would fall in line with the powers that be. Makes me wonder how many of these kids really have Ohio at the interest level portrayed by the site.

Hand has said that OSU/ND are 6th and 7th, and that those are the two schools capable of breaking into the top 5 if something big changes.

  • This is a great resource. So often I don't even look at these lists because they don't seem accurate or up to date. Thanks for taking the time to make this one really helpful.

For what it's worth, I seem to also remember him saying that his top 5 wasn't going to change.

  • No problem. I think if you keep track of this page, you'll get a good snapshot of what the coaches are thinking. At least I hope so.

    Thanks Steve. Good stuff.

While it may be obvious to some folks here, I'm wondering if you can provide a brief explanation of how you define the various tiers. For example, what's the distinction between a "Top Target" and a "High Choice"? Is it an offer? And what about "High Choice" vs "Interested" vs "Scout Look"?

I think I've got a pretty good feel for the categories, but thought it might help to hear it in your words.

    Thanks again...

I had to try to do it to what my definition of each would be. I'm actually glad you asked this. Worth noting that some of these still need a little tweaking and it's still a relative work in progress.

Top Target - Has an offer, is highly ranked and the coaches have maintained contact, at least to our knowledge.

High Choice - Some have offers, some don't. The ones who do have offers are kids who have little/no interest in Michigan (Cameron Robinson, Jalen Hurd, etc.). The ones who don't have offers are guys we think could get offered eventually (Jamil Kamara, Cornwell, Henderson, etc.) .

Interested - Coaches may have stopped by, there's more interest than just basic recruiting mail.

Scout Look - Coaches may drop a line about the player when they stop at a school, basic recruiting mail.

Will you be in charge of Michigan recruit's interest levels?

Lol, note that only six schools are warm. Big drop off between six and seven.

  • Steve, does the "top target" HAVE to be Hand since he is ranked the highest?

Imo, if we looked at our coaches board, Mcdowell would be #1 considering he is a local top talent.

They go in descending order based on the overall ranking of the player; I have no control of the actual order that the players are listed in within each control group.
