As noted in the 2014 recruiting thread and discussed in other threads this week, the new 247 rankings are out. I just updated the M targets spreadsheet to include all the new rankings, so I've got some notes and figured I'd start a thread
Notes on M targets from the new 247 rankings:
51. Bryan Mone, up from #114
103. Mason Cole, down from #62
174. Michael Ferns, down from #157
Wilton Speight still unranked, 3*, #34 QB
75. Joe Mixon, up 133 spots
51. Bryan Mone, up 63 spots
36. Drake Harris, up 42 spots
206. Lawrence Marshall, up 41 spots
-Dallis Todd (#90), Otaro Alaka (#170), Juwann Bushell-Beatty (#238), Christian McCaffrey (#245), and Kyle Berger (#246) moved into the rankings after being previously unranked.
-Adoree' Jackson moved up 12 spots and added his fifth star
183. Jordan Poland, down 93 spots
123. Nick Watkins, down 86 spots
177. Dareian Watkins, down 58 spots
72. Tyler Luatua, down 48 spots
242. Brandon Simmons, down 46 spots
-Mikale Wilbon (previously #151), Jeb Blazevich (previously #198), and Sam Mustipher (previously #199) all fell out of the rankings completely.
-Braden Smith fell 29 spots and lost his fifth star
-Orlando Brown Jr. (unranked) lost his fourth star.
The Orlando Brown thing is what I'd be most curious to hear about from the people involved in the rankings. Brown has a 5-star's offer list, and while offers obviously aren't everything, I'd be very curious to hear what flaws 247 sees that colleges don't and/or are willing to overlook.
Anyway, use the thread for whatever related to the new rankings. I've attached the targets spreadsheet along with a document listing how each of the ranked targets moved in this update.
The latest update in the Top247 for the class of 2014 is full of changes. In are eight new five-star prospects, with two prospects having gone from five-star to four-star.
Pretty sure I read somewhere on 247 that Brown is really raw in terms of technique and is overweight/out of shape (though he has improved some).
I think inuyesta's thread should be pinned but perhaps that's just me.

It doesn't seem like Mone is a guy who will go to camps; I'm guessing he'll drop later.
oh, the other thing that surprised me was that Shai McKenzie stayed a three star. He did quite well in both the initial Rivals rankings and the new Scout 300 (4*, #159 and #117 in each, respectively) and has a lot of good offers.
Personally I think it is crazy to do a continual re-ranking, though I can understand a closeout reshuffle at the end of HS football.
Wow Cole dropped alot
