He's this site's version of BKFinest.

I don't remember much about BKFinest but I think he was a regular poster there then after the Zettel thing happened he disappeared.

BKFinest was a guy who made a bunch of predictions on mgoblog, and when they didn't come true, he disappeared. He's been a legend ever since.

    Who is BK?

BK was a poster on MGoBlog during the 2011 recruiting cycle and was a pretty regular poster IIRC, anyways there was a thread about Anthony Zettel's announcement date and he said something along the lines of "He will be a Wolverine, you can BKFinest it." So after Zettel chose Penn State he became a laughing stock around the Michigan recruiting scene and hasn't been seen since then. He most likely has a different name now though.

  • Here was BKFinest's post on MGoBlog regarding Zettel:

"Hello: Anthony Zettel. Book it. Neg bomb me away if it doesn't happen, but I've got a credible source that affirms Zettel is 95% Blue. Anthony Zettel will be blue at 7:30 tonight. BKFinest it."

I'm automatically suspicious of all Domers.

    goblue

He really isn't a Domer though. He covered the Irish, but he wouldn't have made it nearly as far as he has in this profession without remaining objective throughout. Kids pick up on that stuff, and there's no way he'd break as many commitments as he has over the years if kids didn't trust him to be objective.

I don't know what his other predictions might have been, but Zettel was one of the biggest surprises on record with PSU-related recruiting. Even our staff thought he was going Michigan and they were shocked when he chose PSU. Same for our insider, Sean Fitz, and that's one of the only times I've ever seen him guess incorrectly.

About Farrell...yeah, he's a big ND homer. Don't know what was said or anything, but I'm quite sure he's recruited against PSU before for kids that had both PSU and ND high on the list.

I don't think it was Farrell, but there is another supposedly-objective-media-person-who-is-really-an-ND-fan who spread false rumors to Ishaq Williams' dad about Larry Johnson Sr. leaving PSU. That's when his dad called ND out to visit them before they traveled to PSU (where Ishaq was planning on enrolling), and Ishaq proceeded to commit to ND. Long story short, there are plenty of sleazeballs in the media. Haven't seen many/any on 247sports yet, thankfully.

Any 'journalist' spreading any rumor is a useless piece of garbage. I don't care if the negatives spread are about Michigan, or in the case above, Penn State.

This is the state of journalism these days, I guess. shrug

  • I'm searching anywhere and cannot find laying out what Farrell specifically did. Is their a deleted tweet or something? A PM would be greatly appreciated..

  • Just my two cents, but I can confirm that Rivals started the Pipkins visiting USC talk. Whether that was Farrell specifically or not is something I don't know, but it was definitely someone at Rivals.

In that same token, it's not like the people at Scout have ever gone out of their way to accuse other sites of any wrongdoing or anything lol

  • Just a quick note regarding "conspiracies"...

I would advise everyone here to take care to make the distinction between Tom Beaver and Sam Webb. One is the paranoid, immature, insecure, megalomaniac in charge of Michigan's Scout site who always has an excuse, rationale, or fringe theory as to why things didn't go Michigan's way.

The other is the best recruiting insider for Michigan on any network. The conspiracy nonsense designed to conjure up website traffic is Beaver's job, not Sam's. I'll defend Sam Webb's integrity until I'm blue in the face or something radically changes to change my mind, because there is no one with closer connections and better access to Michigan's recruiting than Sam, and last night was the first time I've seen him as angry as he was. That tells me that there is no "conspiracy" (in the sense that it was all a fantasy thought up as a way of getting more subscribers). It tells me somebody crossed the line between analyst and fan in a very egregious way. Considering recent controversies involving EJ Levenberry and Dorian O'Daniel, this latest development isn't a stretch at all.
