Nobody will take him. Right now, he's more valuable than an empty roster space, but not by much. His salary makes him untradeable, and we're stuck with him for another 5 years. I just hope he retires soon. Worst contract ever.

Also, we've got a lot of young pitchers waiting in the wings. Pineda was out all year, Banuelos is unfortunately out with Tommy John, but he'll be back in 2014, and Kuroda has looked good. Honestly, the rotation is fine - 2013 should be CC, Pettitte, Kuroda, Hughes, Pineda.

The aging offense is the problem. The only young-ish talent we have is Robinson Cano and Brett Gardner. Our catching prospects are still a year away, the rest of the infield is old as hell, and Nick Swisher, as much as I love him, doesn't have a place on this team anymore.

I went to a game about a month ago that this same thing happened. Started the game under a weather delay, even though it wasn't raining. We sat around for 2+ hours and they finally just called it.
