Tigers Playoff Thread...I see you playoffs!!!!

Things couldn't be going better for the Tigers right now. Things that have me excited:
1. Rangers have to play a play-in game, and they are the team that scares me the most.
2. Even if they win the play-in game, they will have to play the Yankees, so one of those teams will be out before we meet them (and I think we match up well enough with NY anyway).
3. Oakland, Texas, NYY, and Baltimore all have to keep throwing their best pitchers out there every night, because they need to either secure the division or they need to win a play-in game.
4. Verlander will be rested, Cabrera is playing better than ever, and we get to play Oakland in the first round. They are a good team, but I'd prefer them to NYY or Texas.
Let's go Tigers!!!

And Mike Trout is 0-1 so far today, pretty much locking up Cabrera's triple crown!

The Tigers set up nicely for the first round, especially if they play Oakland. They will need to get some momentum and win both games at home if they want to win the series. I'm a little nervous how the staff will hold up for the ALCS (if they make it) and the ability of the hitters to knock in key runs, something they have lacked all season.

If I owned the Tigers, I would have be irked with how the season turned out.
Sure, the end was exciting, but ticket sales suffered mightily during the middle of the season when they struggled and if the Tigers were churning out wins at a high pace all year they would have sold out almost every game.

It feels that way sometimes, but the Tigers average attendance this year was 4,765 higher than last year, when they won the division easily.

I don't think people understand the magnitude of this achievement. In the last 45 years, all the great hitters like Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron were not able to achieve this, and even the greatest hitter of all time Babe Ruth, was not able to hit for it.

Something like mid-September was the last time he has pitched. We need the offense to jump on him early so Anibal can have a comfortable lead and not be pressured. Thankfully Sanchez has been pitching lights out of late.
