Because they don't just give out legend numbers to just anybody. What Morgan earning Ford's jersey tells me that the coaches are very confident about Morgan being in the game, and I don't think they want somebody with a legend number sitting on the sideline imo.

That definitely puts a big flaw in my theory.
It's all good, he was hurt when he was given the number and they probably figured that he would make his way back. His recovery hasn't been great and Funchess/Kwiatkowski have played very well. Ducksworth
