Don't know who else here has a sub to ESPN, but a poster there said he talked to someone inside the program who said hired "a coach from Kent State", but the poster didn't remember the name. Another poster then threw out Amp Campbell as the possibility. Now that's literally as unreliable as it gets at this point, I know. Would be an interesting hire if true. Know nothing about his coaching/recruiting, but man, he has an inspirational story.

At this point it's just semi-aimed speculation if you go off the Kent State thing. And looking through the list of Kent State coaches, Campbell would make the most sense. Someone else thought maybe their DC, but that would seem to be even less realistic. I realize he was just hired there, but accepting an equal position at UM would be a major step in the right direction career wise, and one I would expect most assistant coaches to take.

I did the same thing you just did ... I took a quick look at KSU's staff. If it is a KSU coach, it also could be their safeties coach Jeff Burrow. But that's purely a guess based on resume and assuming it's someone on the defensive side of the ball.

Edit: MaizeBlue beat me to it!
