  • Wow. He uses his hands like a college player and has great burst off the line.

What did you think of the film?

First off, Mone is playing out of position most of the time because in college he will be defensive tackle. He has a good motor and doesn't give up on plays, as you can see him chase down several running backs from behind on film. As you said, he has very violent hands and uses them well. Mone has pretty good athleticism and a decent burst off the line. It doesn't look like he is in the greatest shape and his pad level is too high most of the time. Definitely a player that has a chance to be a major force at the next level with some good coaching.

I agree with the pad level, but that's something just about every high school lineman struggles with. He'll have very good coaching at Michigan and he isn't too tall, so that should be an easy fix.

I'm not sure if you agree, but I truly don't see any glaring issues that can't be easily fixed when he gets to Michigan.

Weight- Strength and conditioning program will get him on track
Pad level- Coaching from 3 DL coaches

Thanks Clint. Really looks like he could be a good one with his size and speed combo.

  • @maize&blue21-- I do agree, there are no major flaws in Mone's game. This is why we rank him as a three star, because we feel like he can be a very good player at the next level but just might need a year or two to develop. So a three star rating does not mean we don't think that player isn't going to be great at the next level.

  • Now this is a guy Michigan needs. Big penetrating defensive tackles are the key to stopping the read option
