No you missed the point totally. OSU has Sprinkle and Lewis who are both ranked below Taco at his position. Just because one guy at Taco's position is rated higher doesn't mean that Urban cooled on him if he is taking guys ranked lower than him(assuming Urban uses the recruiting rankings as the Ohio State fan was doing)

When Urban lands highly rated kids, opposing fans like to claim that he is a star chaser and only recruits kids based on star rankings. When he recruits kids who he evaluates highly but recruiting services don't, opposing fans laugh and say that he is taking "scraps." Funny how that works.
Anyway, we won't know whether either of these kids are any good for probably a couple of years, and I don't even think they will be playing the same position, as most believe Sprinkle is going to fill out his frame and move down to DT, while it looks like you want Taco to be a pash rusher off the edge for you.
For arguments' sake though, both Sprinkle and Taco played D1 ball in Ohio, and Sprinkle was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year in D1 (along with OSU commit Billy Price) with 103 tackles, 19 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles. I was unable to find any notable awards for Taco, or even a good source of stats for comparison.
Another Michigan fansite gave this review of Taco: "While his upside has earned him four stars across the board, he needs to develop that talent. His highlights show poor leverage, inconsistency when exploding off the line, and poor hand use. Still, his long arms and rangy athleticism make him a prospect with tantalizing upside."
We'll have to wait and see how these prospects do, but there is no hurry on Sprinkle, as we have a very large number of highly regarded defensive linemen in the next two classes that I'm eager to see progress as well.

Nah I have to say he wins out I mean we flip MAC players and we need Ohio to keep head above water while we're doing that he's recruiting nationally and busting up our pipe line but some us are delusional enough to think we're stealing players they don't want.
i am truly a Michigan fan! Im just concerned that we are becoming the new Wisky and i dont like that ppl think Bama like but our dline couldnt hold up against ohio and we are no where near Bama see the beat down they gave us.
And why am i being dv if this keeps up im going back to mgoblue

Lulz at Urbs being a talent evaluator. If I had a dime for every time Urban offered a recruit about a day or two after Hoke does, I'd be rich.
And if you think I'm being biased, ask Alabama fans. They'll say the same thing. Saban would offer a prospect, and then you'd see Meyer offer the same prospect a few days later.
He's a great recruiter, but talent evaluator... Eh.

I think it's a little too early to have any definitive proof that Hoke is a great talent evaluator. Throwing out a lot of early offers doesn't mean that they are the right ones. We just don't know until we see how the players develop.
But if you would like an example from just this year, Urban offered RB Zeke Elliott out of Missouri when he was a composite 3 star and no one had heard of him. He committed and our board was totally shocked because we were leading for Green and everyone thought he was coming here since he helped recruit Curtis Grant here.
Elliott ended up winning an invite to The Opening, putting up a top 10 overall time in the electronic 40, putting on a great display, which ended up getting him invited to the Army Bowl and shooting him way up the rankings into a top 5 composite all-purpose back.
If Green ends up being an All-American for you, well then I guess Urban evaluated that one wrong. But we will see how his evaluation at RB plays out (though Green is probably going to start as freshmen for you guys, while Zeke is walking into a stacked backfield, so it won't quite be an even playing field).

Yeah, it's too early to call Hoke a great talent evaluator as well. But it's also unfair for Hoke to be taking flak from Buckeye fans every time he accepts a commitment from a lower rated kid.
Yep, I'll give him credit with Elliot. But if you're going by just this year, Hoke found Maurice Hurst jr (who has become a composite 4 star, and performed well in the Semper Fi game), Channing Stribling never got a rating boost, but he's been performing lights out all year. In one game, Stribling was reportedly matched up against the #2 WR (per rivals) Marquez North and shut him down.
Oh, and you can thank us for finding Conley too.

I think Urban is comfortable "cooling" on Ohio players if he doesn't view them as elite. Seemed to work out pretty well for him in 2013 (ratings are 247 composite). I'm not saying this is the case with Berger as I think the staff likes him, but as someone pointed out, OSU is in on some national elite names already.
Vonn Bell (98.7) vs. Dymonte Thomas (96.8) Marcus Baugh (96.0) vs. Jake Butt (92.5) Eli Apple (97.5) vs. Ross Douglas (88.1) Joey Bosa (98.1) vs. Taco Charlton (93.6) Trey Johnson (94.9) vs. Ben Gedeon (91.3) Mike Mitchell (97.3) vs. Mike McCray (93.7) Ezekiel Elliott (96.9) vs. Deveon Smith (91.5) Jalin Marshall (98.3) vs. Jaron Dukes (88.8) Cam Burrows (97.2) vs. Reon Dawson (84.9)

Well that's on Urban for offering lower rated kids!
