Exactly. They have done everything right so far.

We don't have to blindly follow the leader though, that's not the American way... i'm not going to criticize the kid at all, but on the coaches part this is like drafting a punter in the 1st round.

I personally like this move and congrats to Mr Sypniewski. Granted not my first, second, third or fourth choice but I like it.
Last year we lost Molk before the Sugar Bowl. Denard could barely field the snaps without him in. Molk came in on one leg and played the rest of the game. This really hurt our O-Line the whole game because we did not have a replacement ready to go.
So, if this kid is one of the best at long snapping and gives us an advantage for scoring PT's, FG's or gives more time to our punter, I'm for it.

He is a LS, not a center. If anything that is probably big for a LS.

Pretty sure you can't line up a defensive player head up on the LS.

This is more or less correct. The rule is that the defense can't hit the longsnapper until he picks his head up after snapping the ball. My understanding is that they can line up anywhere though. So a lot of longsnappers have more of a tight end/linebacker build, because they need to be able to get downfield and at least be serviceable when it comes to tackling the returner.
