  • "1. Will MSU beat Michigan again?

Where it matters most, yes. For most people, that means a victory on Oct. 20, the Spartans’ fifth in a row in the league’s most important rivalry now that we have divisional champs. But for the first time I can recall, MSU can lose to U-M and reach Pasadena, something that hasn’t happened in 57 seasons.

It’s too early to say what will happen in Ann Arbor (see: health, Maxwell and Robinson). The Wolverines are closing the gap and should be able to stay within two scores this time. If they win the game, it won’t surprise me. They may have to do that to finish better than 7-5. But in the standings, where it counts the most, the Spartans should have another great chance for double-digit wins."

  • MSU is in for a rude awakening. Denard as a Senior, Fitz with another year under his belt..

Combine that with the fact they have a QB that hasn't thrown a meaningful pass.... UM wins this one.

Then factor in the beating we've been putting on them on the recruiting trail. It's gonna get ugly for MSU.

Yep had Fitz played last year, that game would of been different.

IMHO, until we beat them, they get to say basically whatever they want, and we're just gonna have to deal with it. They earned the right to talk...even if what they say is stupid.

We gotta go out and beat them.

I have to disagree. Nobody ever earns the right to say something stupid. If you say something stupid then i most certainly get to respond.

  • So...
...he's calling for Michigan to finish 7-5...
...which probably means he expects us to lose to Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, and...Air Force? Iowa?...
...so he doesn't think we're capable of beating 8-4/9-3-type teams...
...and he thinks Michigan State will win 10 or more games...
...but he won't be surprised if Michigan, the 7-5 team that loses to all the 8-4/9-3 teams, beats his 10-2/11-1 Spartans...

    ...
    ...
    ...
    ...

    Sparty logic, folks.

MSU is enjoying their last hurrah in the sun here .... "the league’s most important rivalry"? Who is he kidding here? MSU always places themselves on a grand pedestal. But .. until we beat them .... peace

MSU is getting their butts spanked on the recruiting trail for '13 and soon to be '14 .... pride before the fall is about right ... it is called out-classed.

The fact that to finish better than 7-5 Michigan would have to beat MSU. If Michigan goes 7-5, I'll eat a lemon. lol

In all fairness, while UM is curb-stomping MSU in '13 recruiting, we still don't have a '14 commit and they have Drake Harris, so they're technically winning...for now.

He was not yet the premiere back for Michigan. For the MSU game, it was still Vincent Smith. Who is a good pass catcher, but not a great RB.

You left out the "may" part, but I agree...it's kind of a stretch to throw that out there.

I guess he sees 4 losses on the schedule (other than MSU). I think there have been a few Michigan posters predicting an 8-4 season, so it's not like he's completely insane.

I still consider it a huge stretch. The chances that UM loses to all of Bama, ND, MSU, Nebraska, and OSU are slim to none.

    What are you thinking? 12-0? 11-1? 10-2? 9-3?

I do understand thinking that the running game will be improved this year (with him).
