  • But in all seriousness, I don't know of any others that seem likely.

Possibilities are Levenberry, Fuller, Bosa, Poggi, McDowell, and Isaac.

    Gedeon.

Dang that's a shot in the dark.

I'll go with Poggi decides in his head, but waits another month or so as planned to verbal.

EJ reclaims us as his outright leader too.

I posted it the other day. Not really a long list but the quality is there. Of course we will see some guys that are not ranked or 2014 kids.

    LB E.J. Levenberry
    DE Joey Bosa
    DB Kendall Fuller
    DL Christian Lacouture
    TE Keith Towbridge

    RB Derrick Green (Maybe)

2014 DE Malik McDowell 6-5/270 Detroit Loyola
    2014 DT Brandon Hines 6-2/265

  • Sam Webb said a couple weeks ago to expect two commitments before, during or shortly after the Spring game. I can't see the second one being anyone other than Poggi, Isaac, or Levenberry. My gut still says Isaac, but he's not supposed to be around (not that he has to be).

Although, if Fuller dropped---Wow. That would be a pleasant surprise, but definitely not expecting that one to happen.

McDowell might, too, but Webb was referring to 2013. I was really hoping for 3 or 4 this weekend.

I don't think we get any commits this weekend now that Gedeon has committed. Sam Webb's comments were not telling people to expect 2 commits, they were his guess that we could maybe see 2 more commits in that time frame, with Gedeon obviously being one of those.

Anything is possible, but this is why I don't think we get any:

    - Fuller is elite and is not going to commit on his first trip to Ann Arbor, I just don't see that one happening without official visits being taken.
    - Bosa is a longshot and likely stays down south anyway, I liken this one to the Jernigan visit a few years back. Nice to get him on campus, but not expecting him to be in the class on signing day.
    - Levenberry just spent a week in Florida visiting FSU for part of the time (if not all?) and now people are agreeing with Farrell that they likely lead. This visit could vault us back into the lead, but if he likes FSU that much, I don't see him pulling the trigger this weekend. He and his family would probably want to go home and talk things over, which would likely lead to the decision to take official visits and slow down his recruitment until after the season and decided at the Army game, which is what his dad has said they'd do all along.
    - Christian Lacouture might be visiting, but after decommitting once already I don't think he makes a decision again this soon.
    - Darius Commissiong doesn't have an offer, so not going to expect him to commit yet, and with options like Poggi and Mathis on the DL, my guess on this one is the coaches ask him to camp this summer to see him with guys like Kenton Gibbs to determine if they want to offer him.
    - Malik McDowell would be my guess at a commit, but it's so early in the '14 recruiting process I don't know how much the coaches would be pushing him to commit this soon.
    - Ty Isaac hasn't been talked about as visiting, so I don't expect anything from him in the short term, but who knows.

Agree with everything you said. Just want to add Lacouture recently named LSU his leader and unless this Michigan visit absolutely blows him away he's expected to commit to LSU shortly.

  • First off, Ty Isaac will not be committing this weekend. Second, most of the prospects visiting are not that high on Michigan, well at least high enough to commit. Lastly the visitors list is made up of mostly current commits, they can't commit twice. The best chance for Michigan to get a commit is if Malik McDowell's father allows Malik to commit.

When Sam Webb said two commits, I was thinking one of our offered corners and Gladney. However, I think there has been a parting of ways between the staff and Gladney. The staff has also turned away a couple of the corners that were originally offered, and I believe Tre Bell and Devin Butler have committed elsewhere.

So I really don't see another commit this weekend. I expect Levenberry to draw out his deliberations with FSU and Michigan being so close at the top of his list. I also don't expect Poggi or Isaac to commit until the summer, but both are possibilities.

He is going to Oklahoma this weekend.

He was just at OSU for a visit and had some decent things to say about it. As many posters have said, he is really enjoying the process. Re-tweets a lot about Michigan (and his profile pic appears to be him in a Michigan hat), but also about other schools as well (OSU being most recent). I don't see him deciding until much later in the year after official visits. Guessing right now, I'd bet on him taking officials to Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss (to visit w/ Standifer?), and Oklahoma before deciding.

  • One thing that I love about this recruiting cycle is how the needs are narrowed down to two or three positions. It really comes down pretty neat.

    1. Heavy Leans: Isaac, Poggi
    2. Wildcards: Levenberry, Fuller, Cravens

And after that it's 2 more WRs, perhaps 1 more DE and 1 more DT/NT. That's going to get us to 23+. With most of the work done our coaches can now concentrate on WRs and DLs aside from the heavy leans and wildcards. That means the coaches can really get a head start on the 2014 kids this summer, and consequently we can send out a whole lot of invites to 2014 kids for our home games. And hopefully another commit-palooza follows next March.

  • Alright people, enough with the Cravens stuff. Until he visits campus, we don't know how interested he actually is so stop saying we have a good chance for him.

Is this directed at my post above? Then maybe I should have defined 'wildcard' as 'you have a spot if you want it' guy. And I doubt you did the math but I didn't include any of the wildcards in the '23' but left open that possibility in the '+'. So no, I never said that we have a good chance for him.
