Why do they care so much about Hoke's recruiting tactics? Seriously, he is obviously doing something right.

The oddest thing about it is that they somehow are working off a basic assumption that telling a prospect the truth is bad. If you tell a recruit that there are only one or two LB positions remaining and that he needs to make a decision before those spots fill up, isn't that a good thing? Is it better to not tell the recruit that and have him draw out his process until October only to have no spots available when he finally wants to commit? Is that what the great Coach D does? Maybe that explains his relatively poor recruiting performance for a back-to-back 11-win team. And if the coaches are willing to hold a spot open for a small number of highly regarded (and sought after) prospects - Levenberry, Isaac - all the way to NSD, if necessary, to have a shot at landing them, what is wrong with that? Every elite program does that. And doing that does not risk disadvantaging anyone except possibly the school itself because if it misses on those kids late it is much harder to fill those slots with quality players.

I liked Levenberry and wished he would of joined the class. I think Hoke holding a spot for him was a good move on Hokes part. I think with the class Hoke showed DJ is the main reason he ended his recruitment early. We lost him to a school that had more things to offer Levenberry. You win some you lose some. As our last two classes have shown we are well ahead of the curve and are definitively winning.

I find it funny that you want to talk about an arbitrary rival ranking in a thread about MSU fans take on Hoke and recruiting.
When I see a thread at trcmb about Michigan or other schools, I don't start thinking about where they fall in regards to MSUs other rivals, ND, Indiana, CMU...
