Some Thoughts.

  • First off I'm maize and blue through and through, and I'll support the team no matter what. But you can't have a team built around one player on offense(Denard Robinson), something happens to him and tonight is whats going to happen. Besides Denard Michigan doesn't have any playmakers, Toussaint was last year but he pretty much disappeared this year. Our recievers couldn't get open and Bellomy couldn't throw it in the ocean. The playcalling was absloutely horrible. Borges ran the tunnel screen 3 or 4 times and Nebraska sniffed it out every time, then the 3rd down option call to the short side of the field my thinking on that playcall was they were afraid Bellomy would turn the ball over, which leads me to my next thought if you don't have faith in the backup QB to let him throw the ball why in the world is he even in the game?
Nebraska was trying to give Michigan the game in the 3rd and some of the 4th, but we couldn't capitalize with great field position.

And that is your explanation why the offense is run the way it is. It's out of necessity and gives Michigan the best chance of winning. I'm sure the coaches aren't thrilled by the fact that Denard is the only consistent threat on Michigan's offense.

This coaching staff didn't build the offense around one player ... RR did. This coaching staff is doing their best to use the talent they inherited to win as many games as possible while they recruit the type of players necessary to migrate the program back to a more traditional offense. You people are spoiled. It's not like we we've lost to Wake Forest and Indiana at home. We lost to Alabama (8-0 and likely to repeat as NC), ND (8-0 and on track to end up #2 or #3) and Nebraska (6-2) after our starting QB was knocked out of the game. Oh, and all three games were road games. You guys are one tough crowd.

  • My thoughts: our defense is awesome, they got worn out at the end but played great in my opinion. We have play makers at WR with Gardner and Roundtree. Roundtree always comes up with big grabs and Funchess is a playmaker. The difference between those guys and Denard....Denard doesn't need to rely on anyone to get him the ball....he can do it himself. Tough to make plays when your QB can't get you the ball

Aside from most of us being very disappointed we do have a right to be a "tough" crowd. This whole off season was filled with hype, half the posters I saw, and a number of the fans I have interacted with couldn't imagine losing 3 games. Yet that's what happened, and people have a right to react accordingly. We were overrated this year, and a lot of people bought into the top15 ranking to start the season off. A top 20 finish and hopefully btcg appearance is the ceiling right now.

Neither exactly made it easy on him either. A number of bad passes, and his last pick was a DB high pointing the ball, even though Gardner has the height advantage. Not excusing his play, but there weren't any playmakers on the offense today.

  • I couldnt really watch the game, or listen to it because of work, but I though Denard broke his wrist or hand or something...so the fact that he will probably return this season is a huge sigh of relief. We need him to beat Ohio, and i dont care about Indianapolis, I just want to beat Ohio

  • I cannot remember Michigan having such poor skill players in these past 5 years than any other time in history... Nobody can put fear in a defense except Denard and he is out of position... I hate to say a player is a "must get" in recruiting because nothing is a sure thing but landing LaQuon Treadwell would really help the QBs and RBs on this roster... You can build a team that is stout on the front on both O and D but without players to take advantage of it, you are just spinning your tires... I think Jourdan Lewis needs to play offense because he is shifty and can make people miss.
