Coaching DL and we are going to hire a new OLB coach .. Couple of guys i would like to see considered would be Marcus Freeman ( yeah that marcus freeman) currently at purdue and lavar woods at Iowa ..Both young energetic coaches not sure how they recruit but still need some youth on this staff

It looks like Mattison will coach all of the DEs now (he coached the WDEs last season) and Hoke will coach all of the DTs (he coached the 1-techs last season). Whoever the hire is, he must be...

If you dont think having an African American presence on the staff is important, then you are wrong. Dead wrong. You have to have guys that can relate to players.
And if we only have 1 African American, and an older one at that, kids will notice. And other staffs will point it out. Trust me.
The name that should be on the list is Roy Manning. Young, charismatic, hungry, Michigan Man, high character, and great connections in state. He would lock down Saginaw and Cass.

This has been pointed out plenty of times, but I think it's the best option, they need to find a guy who is a killer recruiter. That's way harder to find than an X's and O's guy, and way more valuable since they need to replace a great recruiter.

I don't think Marcus would leave Purdue right now, he just went there from KSU with an OSU coach, and only has one year of coaching under his belt. UM would probably be a bit too much of a job for him right now.

Freeman does seem like a solid young coaching candidate. He was a solid college player, too. Maybe you guys will pick him up once Fickell leaves for the MAC or something...
