Great article, Steve! Getting more excited about this kid every day, sounds like he has a really good head on his shoulders in addition to all the athletic talent you could possibly want in a prospect.

Doesn't hurt that Ferns has also "decided" that JuJu is someone he wants on the team as well!

True, but I don't mind if Ferns and Speight try their hardest.
It will be almost impossible to beat Shane's recruiting efforts. C'mon, how lucky were we to have a charismatic 5* quarterback who happens to love Michigan and grew up living 45 minutes from the stadium?

This class has the potential to be really great. Michigan is in the top group for a number of top players.

And that's the thing: Ferns and Speight are at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting their peers because they dont live very close to Ann Arbor; they won't be able to visit every weekend like it seemed Morris was doing.

I agree, it's still nice to have outgoing guys committed so early, and going hard on recruiting.

I don't know, I would have never thought someone would out work him either, however, I don't know if anyone else follows Ferns on twitter, but he has started what he is calling #project135, and it is a t-shirt with a huge block M that says "BUILDING A CLASS ON MEMBER AT A TIME", and after a player commits he gets one to wear to camps and such to get other recruits interested and visit Michigan. He has also been in contact with many many recruits. I legitimately think he could outwork Shane, and that is huge.

I agree with this. While the past two classes have certainly brought it very fast, very physical, and very very good football players, it was also about building depth. With the depth being built, the coaches can go after the top players on their board and go head to head with other top schools and get their fair share because they can spend much needed efforts to get those guys.

I love what this kid has going above the shoulder's. His plan and his vision reminds me of Jordan Cunningham from the 2013 class that committed to Vanderbilt. Truelly has a vision about life and not just football. Kid's like that we go on to be great in life no matter what they do and that is good to see. Makes me want him in the class even more because you know he will work very hard to succeed everywhere.

I think I should withdraw my previous statement, these guys really could out-recruit Morris. And I hope they do.
