I agree and I've always thought Countdown Clocks were kind of gimmicky and play just as much to the fanbase as they do to the players. And to be honest, when Hoke was brought in he needed to do as much work uniting the fanbase as he did uniting the team. I would give Hoke an A for doing that so far, and if the Countdown Clocks helped with that, then I think they're A-OKAY!

We were underdogs when we played Bama in the 2000 Orange Bowl. And we were big underdogs when we played UF in the 2008 Capital One Bowl. The dumbest thing Bama can do is walk into the JerryWorld game overconfident, but that's the funny thing about being overconfident - you never see it until it's too late.

I think the clocks could be gotten rid of after a couple of good years. Under Rich Rod the culture was that of a losing team, and the clocks are helping turn that around. Once Michigan becomes successful again and winning is expected then the clocks won't be needed imo.

Agree. Hoke is a defense-first coach, which is what it takes to win championships. He took the same exact players RR had and turned an absolute joke of a defense into one of the best in the B10 in less than 12 months. What more is there to say?

And as far as all this talk about how Saban went easy on Dantonio and JoePa but is going to drop the hammer on us, wow. IMO it would be humiliating to know that good teams are going easy on you because they are afraid of embarrassing you. You might as well shut down the program at that point. I hope Bama and Saban bring their A game. That's the point of playing them in the first place. And win or lose, I guarantee UM will come out of that game with our self respect intact.

I think this is a little over the top. What he said was that he didn't use a technique like that. No dis to what UM is doing. He also did not say that Bama would teach UM a lesson.

First of all let me state that I think you will find that most Bama fans have a tremendous amount of respect for UM, their tradition and success they have had on the football field, plus it is a great academic institution. The thing that struck me regarding your comments is that the comments attributed to Coach Moore and Saban seem so out of character for both of them. So I went back and re-listened to the Podcast you mentioned above. It was actually on 5/11. Nowhere in the interview is UM mentioned. There is no Coach Moore interview on the Pod cast that i can find. I don't know if you listened or if you are repeating what someone else told you was said. Regardless, it will be a great game. Both teams will be motivated and ready to play. Hopefully fans on both sides will show the other team the respect that they truly deserve.

I find it strange that you admit he said something about the clocks, and now he wasn't even interviewed? I listen to the Finbaum show when I get a chance usually catching large portions of the show on Thursdays and Fridays. I think Paul is a wonderful person and has a very entertaining caller base. My personal favorite is Robert from Waterloo, Iowa. I shouldn't have directed you to the podcast since I have never listened to one nor have any idea what they podcast. I do know that Mal Moore was interviewed last week and that Michigan, count down clocks and lesson were all discussed. I have reason to believe that interview would not be podcast due to Paul's relationship with coach Saban, and the fact that Mr. Moore reiterated that their was not media present. I do not follow Alabama football close enough to know who, when, or where their athletic director is. I do know that after the interview some of the Alabama fans called in to verify some of the other coaches he had hired before Saban. Shula, Dubose, and Price were all mentioned at which time Paul remarked Mal needed a good hire to possibly save his job. I realize anytime anyone outside of an Alabama fan says the name Alabama it is most times considered disrepectful, by listening to the college sports channel on satellite radio. I meant no disrespect I was merely relaying some information I heard on a radio program to some people who might appreciate it here on WOLVERINE 247 just in case you were lost.

You're taking my comment wrong. I was just clarifying that he still the athletic director. Wasn't trying to smart or anything. That's why I said the word "clarify."
