Quick Update: Kyle Bosch

  • The Michigan commit is back at practice today at Wheaton (Ill.) St. Francis according to his mother.

Like I said the other day, all rumors were overblown.

  • Thanks Steve, great to hear that it was nothing. Bosch is one of my favorite recruits, I'm really glad he's enrolling early. He could even compete for a starting guard spot. We'll hopefully have Kalis at one and then it'll be between Bryant, Burzynski, and Bars for the other spot, so you might as well throw in a Kyle Bosch who will have spring ball to get acclimated.

  • Thanks Steve. I know Kyle is a great kid and whatever happened I'm sure was a one time thing.

I wouldn't at all be shocked to see Scofield move back inside if Lewan comes back. Magnuson or Braden could be better at right tackle than those other guys are at guard meaning that Scofield could move to guard.

And in all honesty, Schofield looked best at that guard position. He was better at pulling than any of the guards we have seen this year and last, plus he has had some struggles on the outside.

I'm just really hoping Bryant comes back from his injury mostly in shape and motivated.

That's actually a really good point. Worst case scenario is if Lewan leaves and we feel more comfortable with Schofield at LT than Magnuson/Braden. Schofield has looked terrible the only times he's played LT this year, and I really hope he doesn't go there.

I'd love an OL of Magnuson - Schofield - Miller - Kalis - Lewan

Saw him in the Union yesterday. He's a massive guy but he was out of crutches and just walking with a big limp. It's a good sign that he can already walk, but it looks like he's still got some pretty bad weight on.

Well tell him to lose some weight!

Probably easier said than done. wink_msu I would be scared to tell that to a person that is 2 times the size of me.

  • Been hearing that Ben Braden is going to be tough to keep off the field as soon as next year... He could move Schofield back to LG which would be great

He had a college-ready body coming out of high school (honestly, I thought he'd see the field before Kalis) but whatever happens, I think we're going to have a hell of an O-Line coming up and I'm really excited to see what the 2012 boys can do.

How do you you think the D-line shapes up next year...Roh and Campbell leave, but alot of your talent to fill the void. Im worried about the offense next year, we will have no one to bail us out

Well QWash and Frank Clark should still have their starting spots. Pipkins should be the other DT. For SDE, I actually think we'll see Jibreel Black pull a Roh and move over there for a Black - Washington - Pipkins - Clark line with Heitzman, Ash, Wormley, Strobel, and Beyer all rotating in.

  • I could see Stroblel or Wormley starting at SDE next year. Think we need kids that are already made for SDE not guys like Roh where they have to put on 20 or so pounds to get to a good weigh.

I like that sound of that....agree that Wormley and Strobel will contribute at SDE.....Taco, Hurst and Poggi all red shirt?? That would be my assumption
