Cannot find out much about his prowess as a recruiter, other than to say he was the recruiter this year who landed the highest ranked recruit for NIU 3 Star CB Aregeros Turner who had several D1 offers including Illinois, Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee, and Washington.

Looking at NIU recruiting profile the essentially recruit midwest including MO, and FL. I also think having a young, energetic, Black, coach with current NFL experience is a huge plus.

I have to imagine Freddie Jack is gonna retire when Jeremy graduates, or a short time after.

Maybe he'll have interest coming back to Michigan for RB coach because there is no way Doug Marrone will last more than a couple years at Buffalo.

I agree. I dont think Wheatley comes back for anything less then OC, but that IMO.

That's what I figure, so the whole staff will be canned when a new coach comes in.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Roy Manning take over the RB position whenever FJ retires as well.

I think they might bring in Manning to coach OLB's a position Mattison was coaching last year then it's possible that they could then flip Manning to rb's coach once FJ retires .. I think Manning likes coaching the offensive side of the ball he helped with the OL when he was a Grad Assistant at UM and relayed plays from the booth to the Qb's .. This year there will be a big change in recruiting come Aug 1 when Grad assistants will be allowed to recruit and our recruiting director Chris Singletary will be allowed to make phone calls to recruits also all the coaches will be allowed on the road at the same time no more tag team rule ( 6 on 3 off ) .. Michigan has a really great group of grad assistants Adam Stenivech is pretty much taken over doing what manning did .. Kevin Koger is coming in as a offensive grad assistant i think . Ernie Lawson also is working with the DL there is one open spot on the defensive side

I know I commented that ignoring race as a factor in recruiting would be unrealistic, but it occurred to me that all of our current 2014 commits (who I seem to remember reading were all recruited at least in part by Montgomery) are non-African American. I'm not saying that this proves anything one way or another, but I just thought it was interesting.
