What is Poggi's main drivers on a decision?

    - Academics?

Michigan has Bama beat easily on this one.

    - Playing Time

Difficult to assess, as it requires in-depth knowledge I do not possess. However, maximizing playing time is key if he wants the NFL.

    - Best chance to make it to the NFL

Personally, I would rather develop under GM, who has "been there .. done that."

Since this was posted on BOL I will comment as I usually dont on other teams boards out of respect.

But.....SMH! We will see ya in Big D!

I think you guys are going to be surprised at how well Michigan plays this fall. Lot of motivation going in.

Just curious, what would happen if I posted something like this on BOL?

  • That national championship was such a sham....what should have been....just like how Miami was robbed, but that was the refs fault.

Maybe I missunderstood your post. But add a number and your video is a Harry'ty. I thought Bama fans had more class than Ohio. Stay on your own board unless you can keep the discussion out of the gutter.

No true player, or coach would be proud of that victory. The best player was knocked out of the game. Great players only want to beat the best 22 on the other team. And that was no victory for Bama.

It was like the Pistons over the Lakers with Magic injured in the finals.

Are you referring to the RDT poster on MGoBlog? I recall him saying he thought Poggi would end up at Michigan, but he also said Levenberry and Isaac would end up at Michigan from what he was hearing, so I don't tend to buy into how plugged in he is.

I have seen speculation both pro-Michigan and pro-Bama, so not sure what to think. Bama did take 4 DTs last year and have 1 already this year, so for a team that runs a 3-4 that seems like depth would be in our favor (if he's a 3-tech since we don't yet know who out of Wormley/Strobel/Godin will play that, if any)?

Hence the grain of salt caveat. Nobody will correctly predict recruit's choices the vast majority of the time. Regardless, Alabama wasn't really a factor in Levenberry's or Isaac's recruitment, so I personally am giving his opinion more weight in this particular instance considering Alabama is apparently a finalist for Poggi.

Steve posted this story on BOL so it was on my board. And the guy I quoted was talking smack about UA so I just gave it back to him.
If you are offended by my post then you need to grow a little thicker skin my friend. I didn't attack anyone on here I just simply posted a play that happened during the GAME when all 22 were on the field. Can't help he couldn't take a hit. Just ask both QB's for MSU how it is to play against that D. But like I said we will see ya in Big D and I hope its a Great Game.

How exactly was that guy talking smack?

He said Michigan had better academics. True.

He said he personally would take Mattison. Just an opinion, didn't talk smack there (and quite frankly, you can't go wrong picking between Mattison and Saban).

As for the clip, nice play, but Marcell Dareus ain't walking through that door (thankfully).

    See you in September. goblue

Exactly. Also for what it's worth, I'm more nervous about the UM game than any other on the schedule. It's game 1, and no one really knows what to expect from the other squad. Any time you open against a quality opponent, there are plenty of things that can go wrong. Further adding to the the intrigue is that the Big 10 and the SEC leadership seem to have been butting heads this entire offseason. The Tide and the Wolverines will be chomping at the bit to make a statement which could set the tone for their respective conferences' seasons. In my opinion, this will be a pivotal game for the national championship aspirations of both teams, and I think both teams will come ready to play.

Was it my Pistons reference? Maybe you missunderstood my reference. Everybody in Detroit was looking forward to a tough battle going 7 with the bad boys winning the championship. Magic going down was dissapointing for the fans and the team. Just not as satisfying of a victory.

Are you serious? Injuries are part of the game. Hightower was out that whole season with a knee injury and he would have been our best linebacker if we didn't have Rolando freaking McClain on the team. So you are saying we should discard that whole season because Colt couldn't take an SEC hit?

  • So I am a Bama fan hear to talk about Poggi and not a game that happened 3 years ago that Michigan wasn't even involved in. I think a lot of the initial love for Alabama came because his dad played with Bama DL Coach Sal Sunseri at Pitt and his teammate, Cyrus Jones signed with Bama in the 2012 class. Honestly he'd further his football career and national exposure at either school. Can't wait to meet you guys in Dallas later this year!

Have you heard anything more recently? It sounded just a couple weeks ago like Poggi was Bama bound but now a solid Michigan insider(Sam Webb) is feeling strong about Michigan for Poggi.

A win is a win. But you can't be serious and compare losing a LB to losing the top QB. Its just not a satisfying win.

Besides, this was in reference to the chosen Bama highlight of the game (the injury). Can you imagine a bunch of Detroiters celebrating the Pistons championship and choosing the single highlight of Magic coming up lame. That is when you soiled your pants. Hahaha!

I'm sure you saw it, but that Bama poster on MGoblog is now saying he thinks Poggi to Bama. This one won't surprise me either way honestly. Just looking at the NFL draft last year you have to think playing defense for Saban is extremely attractive. Both schools have different factors going there way on this one.
