Poggi

Very true. Also whats the deal with Adams? Thought he was a Bama lean?

He has an offer from Bama, but I thought that was more of a Clemson/Georgia battle.

I keep hearing that Poggi plans on taking a west coast school tour before he decides which he has been planning on for a while. It's not even June right now, so Poggi could stlil decide in 'summer', visit the west coast schools, and still not make a decision for two more months.

Hadn't heard that, but it's possible. He has offers from Stanford and Cal. USC already has Bigelow and probably doesn't have room for another DT. UCLA, Arizona and ASU all have new staffs and just seem like risky picks for an elite kid from MD. Oregon or UW could be possibilities, I guess. I still think it comes down to us and Bama.

When did he say that? Because Poggi visited Bama twice (late April and early May) and many people expected a commitment on the return visit. It didn't happen and then Paige committed about 2 1/2 weeks later. I don't have any inside info, but it hasn't exactly played out the way many people seemed to be expecting.

It was definitely in the last week or two weeks at the latest.

That would be right around the time Paige committed.

I agree, seems like Stanford would be the main competition, with maybe Washington second because of their "super recruiter" DL coach Tosh Lupoi.

I've read on other sites though that a lot of people think Poggi is really interested in Bama because of the football side and playing for Saban, but he might not fit in as well down South personality-wise as he would at a school like Michigan or even some place out West. Not sure how true that is, and football can always override that stuff, but it was an interesting take.

Well ... it is June already, and I thought originally Poggi wanted to decide in April ??? He is past his original decision date, and if Bama is moving in a different direction, maybe he wants to lock up his spot and finally be done with it.

Yeah, but Bama people are like Ohio fans...they think everyone is a lock . I am reserving judgement.

Once slight difference between them and Ohio fans though is that lately all the top kids seem to actually be Bama locks. I mean, it does seem like if they really want a kid, they get them for the most part. I haven't seen that be the case with Ohio.

They didn't get Pipkins. Of all the prospects UM has a realistic shot at, Poggi is the one I want most.

You are overstating it a bit. DL and LB maybe, but not at most other positions. They miss on plenty of targets every year.
