Personally think ND is SCARED!

Im sorry you mean those cement shoes that seem to be holding your "explosive" B Kelly offense to dismal numbers. Pretty bad when the best ND team you have fielded in YEARS is having trouble beating a Michigan St team that Boise almost beat. So I think the comparison to Boise St is very valid. Even the big wigs know that ND is not a good football team but they see ND as a cash grab and use you to make big money. I really hope that FSU and Clemson leave the ACC for the Big 12 and leave you with rags in the watered down ACC. ND is a joke and until they man up and actually play by the same set of rules as every other team in the nation they will never have my respect.

They would be playing by the same rules if Michigan hadn't blackballed them in the 20's.

The Michigan coach at the time basically forced ND to become a national team, barnstorming around the country as he convinced many of the Midwest teams not to play ND. He and Rockne didn't care for each other much, and while both schools tell different variations of the same story, Michigan has as much to do with ND being independent as ND does.

  • I don't think ND is scared. They won't become the new Boise State because they still can schedule the remaining 7 games to "un-Boise" them. ND already have Stanford, Michigan State, USC, Navy and Purdue.

ND still have enough clout and prestige to call up any school in the country for a last-minute game with the remaining 2 slots.

Respect? Same set of rules? Like oversigning? Graduating players? Are you educated? Notre Dame and Michigan are bitter enemies, but at least they keep the "college" in college football. Nothing Alabama does is on a level playing or deserves respect. You sign 125 players in 4 years, use them up, and dump them back into society, where they lie, steal, cheat, or simply feast on welfare. Fantastic. Alabama offers no value to this country. There is no honor in anything you do; Saban can win five straight titles and he can still burn in hell. Alabama offers some of the lowest income, lowest literacy, and highest obesity rates in the United States. A complete leech on American society. Oh boy they play some real nasty footbaw though. Congrats.

ND obliterated MSU; Boise lost to them. You must be an Alabama graduate. ROLL TIDE.

USC is the only elite football program on that list. Navy, Stanford, Purdue and MSU all have had spikes in performance for short periods, but for most of their history they have been 6-7 win programs (at best). Those are filler games much like Pitt, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Duke will be in the ACC. They are not games that normally will stand out for SOS purposes.

HAHAHAHHAHA with a huge graduation rate and alot of players leave early for the draft you need to do your homework next time sir. We sign 25 players a year or less. We can back count because of attrition which means players didnt qualify or they were kicked off the team for bad behavior. Sorry but every single college team has a few bad eggs. Learn your own program before you call out ours.

Very nice that you post that here. Does that account for the numerous players that leave early for the NFL draft that count against those numbers? I dont think so. Actually our true numbers are in the 90% range as well.. again learn your team and then talk. Ofcourse ND cant understand that because they dont haveenough players capable of leaving early for the draft.

PS we have numerous Academic All-Americans and one final contender for the Rhodes Scholarship a couple years ago. Its not like we are recruiting bad guys. Its just we can evaluate and progress talent, obviously something ND cant do! Keep up the good fight against the Military schools that you seem to have trouble beating these days.

DUDE, you are similar to Boise. We lost because of misscues and happy feet (not wise throws) A more accute QB would have thrown those balls away and we would have scored the 4 TD's we left on the field, if not more. DUDE we have a real Michigan OL & DL rising up. Not like your JOKE of an OL and DL. Manti is an incredible athlete, but at Michigan his coaching would have taken him to greater levels of play than he would not have imagined.

You will be playing in a DUMBED down league with little if any competition. Laugh all you want, but a 16 - 23 - 1 record vs Mich shows ND is RUNNING SCARED. FAce the facts, ND is a JOKE! LOSERS!

16-23-1 love it......The first 8 of those wins came from 1887-1908 when Michigan taught ND the game of football then ND won in 1909. Take way those early results and you have a series that since 1942 is 15-15-1 aided in your favor by you taking 5 of the last 7. Neither team in this series is scared of the other.

Are you really going to play that card after the gift you received last year in Ann Arbor? At least Notre Dame forced the Michigan turnovers this year. Last year we had 2 of our 5 turnovers where Rees and Wood just flat put the ball on the ground inside the red zone. Rees was about to hit Floyd for a game icing score and the ball slips out of his hands(censored) and then Wood is running and the ball just falls out of his hands as well inside the 20 banghead. But wins are wins and you guys took advantage. The better team was clearly Notre Dame last year. I wouldn't go that far with this year's game. It was a close game dominated by both defenses with neither team going over 300 yards. Last year ND dominated for 3 quarters then went full retard in the 4th quarter defensively. Before last week's game it took 2 superhuman efforts from Michigan to squeak out last second victories.

You are an embarrassment to your tradition rich fanbase!

Man I hope we get to play against ND this year. That way we can dismantle you, embarrass you, and probably make B. Kelly's head explode on your QB by committee. You guys are a joke and are no where close to being relevant. Atleast you always have the military schools to play against! Keep up the good fight ND!

Maybe you should head back to Alabama and leave the math to academic schools like Michigan and Notre Dame.

    Last year you signed 26.
    2011 - 23
    2010 - 26
    2009 - 28
    2008 - 32

That is the last 5 years. The only reason they went down is the SEC went to the 28 max for the conference.

Maybe you should learn about numbers and the concept of "more" and "less", and learn a little something about your own program before you start spouting off to others.

How is that a problem when you have a few players not qualify or in some extreme cases die in the off season? Everyone is allowed to back count their signees. Its a allowed rule. We still field the full scholarship limit. Its not like we are kicking kids off the team to make room for others. If they arent acting right or going to class they are gone after the 2nd strike. No different than any other program. Believe me this picture is already painted but everyone sees it very differently. Nice try though.

Then maybe the SEC needs to do a better job of screening kids. Seems odd that every SEC team sign around 100 kids in a 4 year period, but ALWAYS have 15 or so who are "bad apples" that allow the numbers to get down to 85. Must be something in the water down there.

Over the last three 4 year periods, Saban has signed 103, 109 and 111 kids. You're telling me he just knew that 20% of the kids he signs are going to be "bad apples"? Then why is he signing so many of them? Or that many are going to get bad grades? Then why doesn't he get them more help in the classroom? Does Saban not care if he molds these kids into good citizens? Or does he just want them to be great football players, and if they fail, oh well?

You are basically saying that Saban knows that 20% of the kids he recruits are going to fail in college. Seems like a real stand-up guy if he lets that happen to so many kids.

Either Saban can't judge character worth a lick, or he is gaming the system. You tell me which it is.

For reference, Michigan has signed 94 and 93 kids the last two 4 year cycles. Notre Dame signed 81 and 87. Apparently they don't get any "bad apples", or they help them become quality young men, one of the two.

No to be honest the numbers dont lie. It does not look very appealing. You can look at it two different ways. We are either taking too many kids or that we are giving some kids that would never have a D1 opportunity and yes giving them a chance to let us mold them into model character people. Yes Nick Saban knows the system very well and has let some bad apples transfer. Hell even some of them transfer to Auburn. They are either going to buy into our system and be good kids and understand what we expect or they will be asked to leave. That is by no way any different than any other program. It just so happens that most of them happen to be highly recruited highly talented guys and they get more pub for it. For the most part over 90% of our players graduate and get a free education at a pretty good university. ND and Michigan both have higher standards for entry which may be one reason they havnt signed as many or also they have been down the past few years and the kids have been choosing elsewhere. All things being equal I would rather not break any rules take a couple extra kids to fill voided spots and give them EVERY opportunity to become great young men.

Ask ANY player that has played for Coach Nick Saban and they will tell you that he is not the mean cruel bastard you see in interviews. Hell if I got asked 4 million dumb questions over and over I would be in a bad mood too. He is actually pretty funny and laid back. Kids like him very much and he does give them alot of mentoring and life coaching too. No doubt there will be some kids that just dont like him because he is too strict when it comes to rules but you show me any any kid that loves a strict parent and I will show you the fountain of youth.

I have no problems with Alabama other than the "manufactured" national championships by your SID back in the 80's. And there is no doubt Bama would clobber ND if they played this season. I don't think anyone has said otherwise and if they did well then they are not very bright. However, all of these things are cyclical and to call ND irrelevant or any other blue blood program is pure nonsense.

The problem is that Bama kicks off more than a few. There is a big gap in players who leave or are forced to leave bama (foor medical or other alleged reasons).

    Can you admit that?

I cant admit we do it to make room for better players. If we get rid of a player it is strictly for disciplinary reasons. I dont recall not honoring any scholarship that we have offered once a player has gotten hurt. Hell weve got a committed 2013 OL that just tore his ACL last weekend and we will honor his scholarship. I will admit that we get rid of players but for all of the right reasons in my eyes. I dont want to keep players that will be a problem for our program or university. No player is above the team.
