I completely agree. FFS, Indiana almost hung 50 on OSU. Can you even imagine what that Tide would've done? The Tide ran the ball down ND's throat all game and ND had one of (if not the best) DL in all of college football. Simon and Hankins may be good, but Jones, Warmack, Fluker, and Kouandijo would've simply eaten them up.

I honestly don't feel that anyone in the country can compete with Bama on the Nat'l stage when Nick Saban has 30+ days to prepare his team based on the way he's been recruiting and developing talent as of the last few years. A&M should get credit for their victory, but Bama was coming off of a knock down drag out fight against LSU the saturday before with only a week to prepare for an entirely different style of offense.

I don't feel that this upcoming year is going to be any different.

Not to mention the fact that Ohio's OL hadn't faced a defense even close to as good as the Tide's all year. Our D and MSU's D were the best they'd faced, and we aren't within a country mile of the Alabama D. While I don't think the 2006 OSU team was as bad as they played against Florida, this would've been worse, and embarrassingly so.

Hell, Braxton Miller probably would've been carted off by the second quarter. Those Tide LBs make their living off of decapitating QBs.

Wouldnt have tOSU been playing ND in the game? Nobody in their right mind thought we had a chance against Bama last year. From what i saw at least. ND on the other hand? Meyer is pretty good preparing his teams for BCS games. Id like our odds in that game

The two most overrated teams in the nation from 2012 playing for the NC? I'm glad we didn't have to experience that.

    But actually, no.

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think I do remember reading somewhere that Alabama would have played in the NC, even if OSU was eligible because of SoS.

If you can throw the ball, you have a shot to beat Bama. Their secondary was beatable this year. If you don't have a QB with an arm then it is good luck. Johnny Football was effective on the ground against Bama that day, but he threw the ball better then he had all year that day. Aaron Murray also lit their secondary up, and had Georgia one play within beating them. Same with LSU's QB Zach Mettenberger who had a career day against them. Zach Mettenberger was not a good QB last year, but going up against Bama he sure was, and that game might kick start his career.

Now if you have a QB like Denard Robinson, Everett Gholston, and yes your own Braxton Miller. Let's face it none of these guys were plus throwers at the college level last year. You will not, and can not beat a Bama. However a team with a solid passing attack could play with Bama imo last year. Even with 30 days of Saban getting them ready. So yes I think some teams could play with Bama even with 30 days off, and OSU is certainly not one of those teams in this category due to Braxton Miller.

A&M didn't have a single bye week all year, I don't care who Bama played the previous week, A&M slapped them around up and down the field in the 1st quarter and the Tide couldn't recover. A&M would have pounded OSU by at least 3 TD's.

When A&M was on, they were fantastic. But they also had some terrible games like everyone else (OSU included). For example, I imagine you watched them play powerhouse Louisiana Tech to a dominating 59-57 victory? Or perennial contenders Ole Miss to a statement 30-27 victory? They also lost to the same Florida team that got rocked by mighty Louisville, and lost to an LSU team that got beaten by Clemson.

I think A&M is on an upward trajectory, but I don't think they're that different from the team that went 7-6 in the Big 12 a year ago, nor OSU that different from the 6-7 team from the Big 10--at least not yet. Both have a long way to go. I gave them props for beating Bama though already, I was happy to see that. You'd have to do a lot to convince me that Bama wouldn't win a match-up with A&M 9 out of 10 times, though. Especially if Saban has more than a week to prepare for it. I do think A&M is better than OSU at this point in time.

    Where do I begin...

    A) We jumped out to 27-0 lead on La Tech and had 3 D players out, not to mention they were a ranked team
    2) Ole Miss, we had 6 turnovers and played poorly on the road
    3) Florida our first game, we had a chance to win but Florida was still a top 10 team(better than anyone on OSU's schedule
    4) LSU- 6 TO's, our kicker screwed us by missing 2 FG's and an XP

    Now to the 2nd paragraph.

A&M's 7-6 year and OSU's 6-7 year were nothing alike. A&M had a halftime lead in every single game but 1 that year. Terrible game management was the reason we were 7-6 and not Big 12 champs. OSU with all due respect, was 6-7 because your offense was atrocious that year.

A&M won because we were better at several key positions.
    Our QB(obviously)
    Our WR vs their DB's
    Our OL versus their DL
and our front 7 gave their OL trouble with our speed up front(Barrett Jones was consistently abused)

  • Louisiana Tech was actually a pretty solid team last year, and had some nice wins for a team that no body acknowledges. Quinton Patton had the game of a lifetime against A&M(21 catches, 4 tds, 200 plus yds). Who btw was one of the stud WRs of college football that not nearly enough people knew about.

They were not a solid team. They had a very good offense and just outscored teams. Also General Patton is awesome.

I don't know how many of you guys participated in the discussion/argument last night on the Gators 247 site, but now I see why you guys hate Ohio so much. I thought Miami and FSU fans were bad, but they are like adults compared to the Ohio fans. Not only are their fans terrible their writers are homers and whiners. Well anyways hope you guys beat Ohio this year, and every year after and give Urban some more chest pains like Saban did.

    welcome
