whew! For a minute I thought you were taking a jab at DRob's passing skills...Oh, gotcha, DRob can't hand off or take a snap from under center..... Wait, who recruited DGard? What type of offense did that guy run?Was that the RichRod Power I ?

lol When you want to talk for real then we can continue this.

You take an awful lot of shots at Denard and yet his sophmore year was better than Millers sophmore year. So for all your shots about Denard not being able to throw the ball i will just point you in the direction of Braxton.

Anytime you want to compare TD to INT ratio? I'm not taking shots at DRob, I am confused because some on here say that DRob is so much better than BM, yet DGard is better and should start at QB. So if DRob is the BEST QB, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm candidate, why would he get beat out by a kid that didn't even take a practice snap all season until 2 weeks ago?

I don't start, I just answer direct statements.

He didn't get beat out by Gardner. The problem you are having is DRob and Gardner are different types of QB's. Robinson is better suited to run the spread. Our O coordinator is much more comfortable and better at designing a pro style offense. Gardner is better suited for the pro style offense than Denard. It's that simple.

That was the reason for my question, "Who recruited DGard?" If he's better suited for a NON Spread offense, why did a spread offense coach sign him? Did he know he was going to get fired and thought, "Hey, I'm going to get this kid in case the next coach needs a more traditional QB"....

It would just be so easy to end this with the truth...just say, DRob can't throw the ball consistently to someone on our team and DGard can, so we don't want DRob to play QB anymore and we're going to use him as a decoy and hand it off to him every once in a while. No biggee, DGard is your better QB and gives you the best chance to win. But don't say DGard is a Non Spread QB. It cheapens you.....

I didn't say Gardner wasn't a spread QB. I think he is capable of playing both. Read my post again carefully. What i said was that Gardner is better suited to run a pro style than Denard. I didn't say Gardner was better suited for the pro style versus a spread. I think Gardner can run both.

Now how this started was talking about Borges. Borges is a pro style offensive coordinator. He is much more comfortable with a QB such as Gardner who is capable of running the Pro style. Borges has struggled trying to run a RR style of spread offense.

Oh and if Denard can't throw a ball than neither can Brax.

And you are talking to wrong person if you are claiming I don't want Denard as our QB. I have been one to say he should be our QB all year. I believe Devin adds something to it with his ability to throw the ball downfield but i still want Denard to take plenty of snaps at QB.

I understood you perfectly, you never answered my questions as to why DRob couldn't run a pro style offense...

Was it he couldn't hand off, couldn't take a snap from under center, couldn't understand the offense or couldn't throw the ball effectiveley.....

That is all, it has to be one or more of those things, as running a pro style offense has less reads than the spread option offense he was running.

It's really not a big deal to admit that DRob can't read the defenses well enough to throw the ball, really isn't... here I'll show you how....Braxton doesn't read the defenses very well right now, and if the 1st option isn't open he doesn't check down...

See, didn't hurt a bit...just do it in one quick tearing motion.....

lol Because that has nothing to do with any of the points i made in this thread. I don't really care why Denard can't run a pro style.

  • Its going to be tough for Ohio's D to gameplan against us this year. Michigan fans aren't even sure who the starting qb will be and how much Denard will play or in what role.
    Michigan 37 - Ohio 28.

Funny thing is, BOTH Michigan qbs have won TWICE as many Big Ten Player of the Week awards than Braxton.

Denard won 2, Devin has won 2........Braxton just 1.

Both Michigan qbs have won the Manning Award Player of the Week award (best qb performance in all of college football)....Braxton has won ZERO.
