Garnett was a west coast kid who liked Stanford all the way through...and Stanford was a good team, better than Michigan.
Green is a kid that had Michigan in the top few all the way through, and his other leader Auburn has self-destructed, with a coaching change to boot.
Of course you can never tell with kids, but I like our chances with Green far more than I did with Garnett.

It would be a combination of him/his family loving Michigan and seeing a great opportunity, as well as not having plausible secondary options. This would not be a "chosen by default" scenario in my opinion. Our coaches have been recruiting Green extremely hard since we lost out on Isaac. I forget who pointed it out, but he is the only RB we've had visit Ann Arbor since May. That's some serious dedication by our coaches, and a strong indicator of how they feel about him.
I'm not going to sit here and say the situation at Auburn and Tennessee won't contribute to his decision, but Green really likes Michigan.
